- Vale Arista Sven -
With heavy hearts, the time arrived to say goodbye to our dear boy, Arista Sven. ❤️
He came to us in 2017 as an adult from Tania. Steph had persuaded me to let her get a ‘show pig’.
We quickly realised that he was a very special boy.
He certainly won our hearts with his antics. He loved ‘the Ladies’ and sired some Bristletoe champions of his own over the years.
His career highlight came in 2018 when he won Cavy West Cavy of the Year. He reached Triple Champion status during his show career. Over the years he won Multiple BOBs and Best Junior Exhibits with his doting owner Steph - she spent hours and hours with him. His name is etched on many of the club’s perpetual trophies. ❤️ He never won a BIS, he had a small tear in his ear … but to us that was just a part of him ❤️. He was perfect in our eyes!
Thank you, little buddy, for so many good times. For teaching our girl so much both on and off the table. For being a Guin of much character (yes, he’d let you know when grooming was done 😂).
Sven died of a sudden stroke - he didn’t suffer - which is all we could ask for. He must have been at least 6 years old which is a super innings for a Cavy…. and we knew he couldn’t stay forever.
Rest well wee fellow.
A big thank you to Tania for entrusting a little girl with big dreams with her beautiful Sven. Thank you Suzette for always being there with the best advice and support and for always going above and beyond for us.
We’ll miss you Svenie 🥺❤️🐾
