EOI - this is a tough post to write as I adore this horse but due to current financial circumstances, I’m having to start thinking about finding my beautiful big boy a new home.
I’ve had him since he finished racing with all the hard work done
Details - 10yo, 17.1hh ott by Denman by super sire Lonhro.
Beautiful big horse, that moves well, tries is hardest to please and lovely to ride.
He will be sold only as a dressage horse as he does not enjoy jumping.
3 lovely paces, currently schooling lateral movements etc
Pleasure to float, wash etc. barefoot and a dream to trim.
Has a super coat, so no clipping required.
Numerous wins and placings under his belt in his limited comp career due to Covid and focusing on other horses over the past few years.
Not suited to a beginner rider due to his size, so will require a competent rider to continue to bring out his best. This horse is only just showing what he can do and will easily move up the levels in dressage. Currently in full work and out competing. Recently finished a close second in the Racing Vic ott dressage series.

Can’t thank everyone that has reached out, tagged and supported me in the past two weeks after the unexpected news I received.

Great end to a not so great week 😊
Headed down to Boneo Park for the first part of the Off The Track dressage series at the Boneo Park Summer Dressage Championship
Great to be out as I didn’t know if we were going to get there with Denman only just coming back into work after getting a pesky abcess but we got there 🙌🏻
Yesterday the big boy produced a lovely first test to finish a close second. Our second test he took a dislike to some signs on the side of the arena and added some unwarranted aerial moves which cost us some points but he still finished 4th and 3rd overall for the day.
Today with the windy conditions, he was a bit on his toes but pulled it together in the first test with a great score of 71.07% and first place (didn’t freak out about the signs today 🙌🏻). He did a lovely second test, to finish again in first place and overall champion for the day.
Well worth the drive down for sure. Such a well run event, Thankyou to all the volunteers and sponsors, esp Racing Victoria for running the series, great to have their ongoing support for retired racehorses out competing.
A big thanks to my wonderful friend and sponsor Emily’s Equine Service for not only helping out at home whilst I was away but keeping both Denman and I moving. I literally could hardly ride last week but a bodywork session by Ems and back to feeling great, Thankyou 💕

First EA dressage comp done for the big boy and I.
Two days of dressage in a row and we are a little tired esp with the erratic weather we’re having these past few days!
Sat saw a very humid and sticky fly morning and a rather fresh Denman 🤦🏼‍♀️
He worked well once in the arena to finish second. A few hrs later and it was our second test and a much more relaxed boy. He did a super test (smack the rider for walking across the diagonal at the wrong spot 🤦🏼‍♀️) but still finished in a clear first place to finish off first in the jackpot and best performed ott for the prelim division 💕🙌🏻
Today we were with all the lovely WB, he was much calmer thankfully but again rider needs sleep obviously as I totally missed a circle which cost us some points 🤦🏼‍♀️ but still finished a respectable 6th against some very lovely horses.
Second test saw some lovely movements and some silly errors esp at the last canter where Denman swears he saw the boogie man in the judges box and got very offended resulting in a very low mark for that movement 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

He finished 9th and 7th overall in the jackpot and second in both tests for best performed ott in the prelim division.
Was a weekend of learning and although I’m exhausted, I can’t wait to get him out in the EA dressage world again 😁😁 (never thought I’d ever say that!! Think I need to go jumping 😂😂)
Thankyou to Whittlesea Plenty Valley Dressage Club and Victorian Dressage Club and all the officials, judges and volunteers for running two well run events, I had a ball and to Off The Track for sponsoring the ott awards at these events. It’s a great initiative which all of us ott owners and retrainers appreciate 👏👏

Headed up the Hume for TTT dressage at Benalla on Saturday and boy it was a hot HOT one! I like the heat but this even got to me 🫣
Was a very long day but a good one was had.
A few silly errors did cost us some points and higher places but still super happy with the end results in a class of some lovely seasoned horses. The big boy really hasn’t had much comp experience with this only his 4th dressage comp and 7th comp overall.
We finished 4th in his first test thanks to a brain fart moment by the rider (I blame the heat and unexpectedly having to ride 20 mins early 🫣) and he finished 3rd by only a few points in the second test and ended up 3rd overall 🦄💕

Everyone that rode Saturday did super well as it was very challenging conditions. As always Benalla ran a well run event with some wonderful prizes that would not be possible without very generous sponsors, including Jewel Equestrian and Hygain who were sponsors of my level.

Thankyou to my wonderful club members esp Tania Harding Jirrima PH, who kept me hydrated between tests and supportive as always 💕

We have now pointed up to level 2 🫣🫣
Time to kick the training up a gear and get ready for some new year comps.

The big boy and I went sand dancing today at the Mt Duneed ARC Event Page official dressage jackpot 2023 at elcho park.
He was a bit fresh after only 3 rides back after a week off as I was in Sydney for work but produced some lovely work to finish second by a small margin in the 3.3 and the rider let him down in the 3.4 having a mental blank and forgetting the second half of the test 🫣 but he still finished second by only .32 of a point, cost us the win but still super happy with the result.
He ended up as jackpot champion for lvl 3 and also best performed OTT for the day 🥳🥳
So all in all, a good day in the office 💕🦄

Today the big boy and I went sand dancing at Bolinda Riding Club Inc. dressage day at Lancefield.
It’s only his 4th dressage test and he again did me proud. He produced a lovely first test, despite having the totters come out half way through, he composed himself to score a tidy 77% to finish in top spot.
He was a little tired in his second test (so was the rider, both a little unfit 😂) but still ended with 71% and second place and stoked to say, jackpot winner for our level.
We were also lucky enough to win the best performed ott for the day.

I’ve loved this horse from the moment I first saw him but it hasn’t been a easy journey with him. We’ve had our moments in his retraining and a few set backs but gosh he sure knows how to make a come back 🥇🥇🦄🦄

All the hours have certainly paid off and I couldn’t be prouder of my sensitive big boy 🥰🥰

Thanks to Danielle Louise and Catheryn Lowe for coming along for support and so great to see Kate Morrice and Brenda Ross out and about with their special ponies. You did super Ladies 🦄🦄🙌🏻🙌🏻

Super proud of the big boy over the weekend at the BetaVet Australia TTT horse trials. Its been two years since he has competed, came back into work for a month then out again with the rider getting injured 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was determined to ride there, so entered before I was even allowed to ride 😂
Back in only a month ago and off we went and what a result, couldn’t have asked for more from him, leading from start to finish 🥰
He produced a beautiful relaxed dressage test to score 86% 😁
He didn’t give me the easiest ride sj and we ended up with one green rail, that’s horses.
Then onto Xc, it was an interesting course, with lots to look at esp for green horses. We got held up at the start for over an hour with a bad fall, we froze but he even though he was over it by then, he jumped a super clear and under time round 🦄
Our team also won overall, which for a little club from NSW, is a super result.
Congrats to Kay Harding, Tania Harding Jirrima PH and Liz Vasey - Koschitzke for super results and being awesome team members 😊

Emily’s Equine Services is based in Melbourne, Victoria. My love for horses began when I was very young, which has now grown into a passionate career in the equine industry.


I have extensive experience with foals through to stallions and I’m very competent around horses. I’ve recently become qualified in equine myofunctional therapy through the National College of Traditional Medicine. Here I have learnt equine anatomy and physiology, myofasical release, exercise physiology, saddle fit dysfunctions, mobilisation stretches, and pre and post work massages.

I understand the whole horse approach and am committed to improving the connection and harmony of both horse and rider through remedial treatments that ensures high functioning performance.

The win that keeps giving 😁😁
Very happy to receive this in the post yesterday. Flash’s rug for best performed ott in the 65 class at spring horse trials (back when we could actually get out and compete 🤦🏼‍♀️😏)
So two rugs from one win, pretty happy with that 🥳🥳
Such a special little horse, 3 eventing starts and 3 rugs 🥰
Thankyou to and for their continued support of life after racing for these beautiful animals.
Seems poignant to focus on that this week 🦄😁❤️

Had the sad news this week that the super special mare passed away 😥❤️
We had this mare since she was a foal and I trained her myself throughoit her career and competed her successfully up to royal show level.
What memories I have of everything we achieved together, and gosh there were alot, with the biggest going top 10 in the pope cup at the Royal Melbourne show.
We were lucky enough to get a super WB x foal out of her who is one stunning horse now. She has been living out her retirement years with the amazing Jackson family as the best nanny for their foals, a job she loved!
This mare had the most amazing movement, looks and temperament and was definitely one special horse that will be hard to find another like her, she just had that most amazing, natural ability. Although she could jump, she found her home in the show ring. She kept me on my toes but I would have never had shown and achieved what I did without her, so Thankyou Lady!

She will be greatly missed. Fly high beautiful Lady ❤️❤️❤️🦄🦄🦄

Last night in Germany calls for a dinner out, Munich really put on a show 🫣
Thunderstorms and I was so lucky to get the crankiest waiter who clearly had no tolerance to non German people and just placed an order for duck when I asked for pork 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
Lucky I like pork and it was yummy but not really German 😂😂
