Friday afternoon riding lesson.
What to do on a rainy day??? Lennie and Mack decided they would watch TV with darryl 😂. I think if the door was open they would have both walked inside and made themselves comfy on the couch.
Proof that Harvey does not consider himself a poodle but is truely a working cattle dog that is brave enough to muster bulls 😂.
Lucky the pony being introduced to sporting activities.
Chloe riding lucky in the arena - a nice trot to canter transition - well done Chloe
Lucky taking most of this mornings training in his stride 😊
This week we are trail riding as part of our lesson. It is also a great opportunity to ‘pony’ or ‘lead’ Lucky. This gets him out and about, accustomed to bigger areas (cows, kangaroos and other scary things). Well done Kenzie and cunxin successfully leading Lucky.
Ride 2 - great work ruby and Lucky
After 3 weeks of groundwork, long lining and leading from another horse the girls are riding Lucky. Well done lucky and Macy
Lucky to pony is our project for Term 4. My older riders will be learning (and participating) in the process of educating a young horse. This week is lots of ground work and getting Lucky responsive, respectful (of space) and used to all that goes on during our riding lessons.
Another fun activity - moving water in a cup. With balance, rhythm and control Ruby can easily trot without spilling a drop of water.
While I hope most weeks are ‘fun’ lessons, this week we are playing games and fun challenges on the horses. Marissa and Chloe make the toilet paper challenge look easy. They have to hold a length of toilet paper (2m) between them and ride approximately 30m without the toilet papaler breaking. They did it in a very coordinated canter.
Lennie and Xander enjoying their holiday.
Afternoon ride on my favourite horse, Georgina. I know I’m enjoying being able to ride her again 💕 and I’m pretty sure she is happy to be back from maternity leave.
It is holiday time and the horses are having some well earned R&R. They are enjoying cooler weather, lots of lush green grass and open spaces.
