The clinic was so happy to be a part of this reunion on Friday night. A timely reminder PLEASE keep your pet's microchip details up to date!
***HAPPY TAIL***
We rarely have a reunited of a dear old deaf 20 year old kitty , but Buddy has proven the old adage to "never give up". He is a tough little man and had been missing since the 13th of May. We at TLPR were delighted when we matched up a missing post with a found post from the Eastern Shore Vet. It could have easily been overlooked as never in a million years would it be feasible for him to travel so far. Maybe his love of people got him into trouble and he decided to have a car ride across the river.
His family are over the moon and sent us this message -
It's so crazy! We had started the mourning process. We put a missing sign up on Monday and replaced it with flowers yesterday morning, as we really believed he was gone, as he never travels further than 20metres, either at our house or Shippies Pub. He loves a drink and chat at the pub, the kitchen staff are very patient and kind to him! 😄
Buddy lived most of his life in Devonport, being found in the bush as a feral kitten. Now in Hobart as a 20 year old, deaf, dementia, b**g eye, arthritis, scrawny but happy and very sociable!
He lives with two other tabbies, they are mates with each other but Buddy prefers the company of humans on the street.
Lovely Sophie rang last night from Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital saying a member of the public had found Buddy and delivered to them, saying he had his collar on when she first spotted him the night before but by the time she could catch him it had gone. Laughing and crying, not believing or knowing how he managed to cross the river, we raced over to collect him!
We will never know how, why or who 'helped' him on his adventure!
Thank you Tasmanian Lost Pet Register, we would not have Buddy home without you!
