The second hand saddle marquee will return with Naomi Mumford of Inline Equine available for advice and mini saddle fitting appointments. Entries due Sunday, 15 Sep 24 for sellers interested in showcasing their saddle/s in the saddle marquee. This will allow time for advertising and booking saddle fittings.

It's HOT HOT HOT!!

Well it's been a stinker outside. Please stay safe with your horses and watch out for heat stress. Clinical signs to monitor in horses include elevated re**al temperature, depression, dehydration, increased respiratory rate, slow capillary refill times, decreased pulse pressure, intestinal stasis, muscle spasms and cramps, which can progress to exertional rhadbomyolysis, renal failure, liver dysfunction and laminitis without immediate and appropriate treatment including cooling and fluid therapy. The early recognition and treatment of heat stress is critical as the disease can result in death if left untreated. Rapid cooling is the mainstay of treatment in combination with sedation and circulatory support. Please contact us immediately if you have any concerns but commence continuous cold hosing until we can evaluate your horse.
