Yarraman Park has been owned by the Mitchell family since 1968 and is managed by brothers Arthur and Harry Mitchell. Both Arthur and Harry are hands-on all year round and are both highly experienced horsemen who bring a lifetime of international and local experience to the stud along with vast worldwide contacts. incible and his exciting young son Hellbent. The stud owns a top-class broodmare band, which is being constantly being upgraded, and these broodmares support the Yarraman Park stallions as well as visiting the leading Australian Stallions. HISTORY

Yarraman Park Stud has been home to thoroughbreds for over 100 years, dating back to the early 1900’s when the Thompson family raised many fine horses on the farm including the great champion Eurythmic, foaled in 1916. Eurythmic won 30 races in all, beginning his racing career in Western Australia by winning the Karrakatta Plate, WATC Derby and Perth Cup before venturing east where he defeated the best horses of the time and claimed victory in races such as the Caulfield Cup. Yarraman Park Stud came into the ownership of the Mitchell family in 1968 after it was purchased from legendary jockey, George Moore. James (Major) Mitchell had visited Yarraman Park in 1966 and was so impressed by the stud and the area that he made George promise to give him the “first right of refusal” if he ever decided to sell. Yarraman Park has been a family-owned and run operation for 50 years and is now under the charge of brothers Arthur and Harry Mitchell, who bring to the stud a lifetime of international and local experience in the industry. They are supported by an excellent team of staff, who share the Mitchell’s commitment to the professional and personal service that only a family-owned business can provide. LOCATION

Yarraman Park is nestled amongst the picturesque rolling pastures of the Upper Hunter and is situated 7kms from Scone and a 3-hour drive north of Sydney. The Upper Hunter is the heartland of Australia's thoroughbred breeding industry and as such offers breeders unparalleled access to the best the industry has to offer, including the Equine Research Centre and the new Scone Racecourse.

This was a special one 🤍 Congratulations from the Mitchell family and everyone at Yarraman to Jennifer and the Acton family on the win of Hi Barbie (Vinnie ex Outback Barbie) in the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes at Doomben.

A big congrats to Tony Gollan for getting her to the races pre-Christmas and winning a Stakes race on debut in unfavourable conditions - Stakes winner #112 for Vinnie.

We are privileged to have offered Hi Barbie this year where she made $1.2 million and look forward to presenting Hi Barbie’s full brother (Lot 755: https://bit.ly/MMLot755) in January at Magic Millions.

New Zealand Bloodstock’s sale ring lit up as Lot 174: VINNIE x SHILLELAGH stepped in - King of the Karaka ring, DC Ellis CNZM Te Akau Racing went to $1.65 million for the c**t out of the dual G1 winner who Te Akau trained, and by our three-time champion sire.

We’re thrilled for Chris and Susanna Grace, who bred and raced SHILLELAGH, and for Mark and Lorraine Forbes’ Kiltannon Stables who consigned him.

Big congrats to Te Akau Racing who have had great success with Vinnie’s progeny - they bought G1-winning two-year-old c**t MOVE TO STRIKE along with ten-time G1-winning daughter IMPERATRIZ who they sold for a record price, too!
