Shoutout to the backbone of our entire operation. Confectionery weighing machine turned mushroom substrate bagger. Imported this thing about 4 years ago and it's the best money I ever spent on the farm. Can pump out 130 bags in an hour.
Made a few modifications and added a water meter with a button on the chute to add water at the same time. The bag rest is a recent addition (Thanks Dad) and makes the job a bit easier on the hands
Thinking about adding a screw auger or vacuum or something to automate refilling the hoppers
For anyone wondering where to source these.. Unfortunately the manufacturer I bought this from is no longer around. I think I've found another supplier but haven't tested their equipment yet so can't vouch π€·
Finally got around to filming a Grow Kit tutorial π only about a year late

Bit of behind the scenes lab action π§βπ¬π· ft. our state of the art $50 1970's Facebook marketplace clothes dryer / bag mixer. Definitely paid itself off 1000 times over.
This is where we open blocks of sterilised substrate and inoculate with mushroom spawn. This is also where the risk of contamination is the highest.
Every mould spore in the immediate vicinity wants a piece of the nutritious shroom food. So we work in front of a laminar flowhood that blows HEPA filtered air across our workspace to try and keep the nasties out.
Once inoculated the blocks will head into our incubation space for varying lengths of time depending on the species π
First voiceover. Be gentle pls.
Reishi (Ganoderma sp.) super easy to grow, cool af to look at and super healthy. Also 100% an alien.
Might do a few other up-close harvesting videos if y'all are interested π€· I'll also probably definitely forget. Thanks for watching x
TL;DR: @mycro.au is now co-owned by our @precisionmycology lab and is taking over as the retail arm of the company. It made sense to combine our focus and put all of our efforts into scaling one single retail brand rather than trying to focus on multiple. We just wanna give people access to quality Aussie products, and this is another step towards cleaning up this dumpster fire of an industry. Head over and give our @mycro.au page a follow, and check out the Mycro website for all your functional fungi needs. And keep your eyeballs peeled for some cool things coming soon πππ¦πΊ
