The boys are well and truly out on the 3rd leg! Vetting through with straight As and 1s 😍 expected back at around 11.30am!
Kia thinks the scratches at the end of the ride are worth the effort of going on the ride in the first place!
The physical work season has finished... and the brain work season has begun!
Max and Kia tackled parts of the Baldivis Equestrian Playground today- Lisa was a brilliant guide. A fantastic way for our endurance horses to gain more independence and trust in their human.
We will be back to tackle the tyres next time!

West Coast Kia (West Coast Acharon x Statuesque) became a pole dancer today!
A great clinic with Vanessa Hancox held at the WA State Equestrian Centre. Kia’s first time over poles and she didn’t bat an eyelid. Lots of interesting pole moves were learnt and we can’t wait to try them out at home.
West Coast Kia. Bred for...athleticism?
Max Feeling Good!
A video of Pembrooke Park Royalty yesterday feeling amazing after riding 160km on the weekend. Unfortunately, he was vetted out at the very end with mild hind lameness. A terrific effort for a young horse regardless - and he has pulled up 100%!
Some dressage-worthy hock action there West Coast Kia (West Coast Acharon x Statuesque) 😍
Coaching by Correspondence!
Buddy is now a Distance Education pupil with flatwork trainer (Bec) giving Norb (rider) and Buddy instruction via text!!
Bec (who studies in Melbourne) receives videos of Buddy training and responds with instructions via text.
With the endurance season slowly winding to a close, it is time to focus on the younger horses who will debut next year!
Sensational result for our horses at Dryandra this weekend.
The West Coast stables had 5 horses entered this weekend and finished up with 5 successful completions as well as icing on the cake placings!
The three 120km horses completed the ride in just over 8 hours after their first nighttime start .
Kia and Bec: the 120km yesterday was Kia’s second ride out of novice and 40km further than she had ever gone before.
She absolutely smashed it- the video clip is of her leading the herd 3km from home on the last leg! She really stood up to the challenge and showed she was more than ready for the step up in distance- her HRs were consistently low and she was bouncing around this morning. Definitely her Daddy’s daughter!
Regent and Jane: the ever dependable Reg had his first attempt at a 120km and led most of the way, looking after his stable buddies. Reg and Jane placed 2nd LWT- a good leg up ride to the State Champs!
Ella and Norb: the 120km was Ella’s first ride over the 90km mark and she ate up the distance! Together they placed 1st HWT and received another Best Condition award- champion little horse.
In the 80km there were two chestnuts from our stables who rode around very nicely together to both complete the ride.
Max and Cassie: Max is now qualified!! 🎉🎉 thank you so much to Cassie for rising to the challenge of riding your first 80km- you did an awesome job. To top it off, they came =2nd MWT!
Monty and Kylie: they chaperoned Max around the 80km and did an awesome job earning the joint =2nd MWT and 2nd in the BC! Welcome back Monty!
Thank you to the ride organisers, volunteers and sponsors for putting on a lovely weekend.
Margaret River bound for the last ride of the year!
Ella will be doing her first Open 80km alongside Reg, and Max will be doing his first 80km.
Hoping for a strong finish to a fantastic year for our very special horses.
Our roo friend has returned! I think he/she wants to be our pet?
