Some DF plaits. Big thanks to my sister for doing a supply dash to while I was at work. With the hot and wet weather we had coming today, I had to make sure we had the right products for all seasons and it’s been so busy lately that I’ve been using some things faster than I can remember to replace them.

I can’t tell you how many times I combed this mane down for a photo only for the wind to immediately blow it around again. This is the best after photo the weather would allow! First mane tidy for this boy to soften the difference between natural and what is growing back from being rubbed out.

Amayzing Grooming Show 2024 at the Royal Melbourne Show. I’ve finally had some sleep and I can focus for long enough to write something! What a crazy experience. I knew two dogs would be a bit too ambitious but hey, why not! Two classes, two judges, four chances. First up was Sally the springer in the spaniel class. She earned us two 2nd place ribbons. Then it was Wombi the griffon in hand strip for a 2nd and a 1st! We are so lucky to have such generous owners that let us borrow their pups for these competitions. A special mention to my best helper Thanks to my coworkers and congratulations on your own beautiful grooms at the show, and of course the biggest thank you to the class sponsors and

Possibly my worst photos yet, but at least my own horse is now neat and tidy. A hair brush and an old clipper blade are the only tools used. This horse won’t tolerate pulling and I think the blade gives a more natural finish than scissors. The closest to pulling without pulling.

The trying on of gear continues. I’m surprised Draco’s ears fit her… though not really because she fills them up to their capacity where he had about 1” of unused fabric 😂 I am very surprised that she didn’t find anything unusual about me putting them on her, and she’s still standing with them just sitting on her head. Good baby horse!

I got the bridle path clipped today but the mane can wait for another day. I can only fit so much in daylight hours 🙈
