Whose dogs have benefited from having Raw Green Tripe on the shelves 🐾 + in their bowls, or some just use as a frozen treat.

So many benefits, I hear dogs that eat their own poo 💩 aren’t after a couple of patties. 👏

I have never met a dog that doesn’t froth for raw green tripe. 🤤
The smell may be unpleasant for us
( i think it smells like a cow dairy 🐄)
However, they absolutely love it and can be great for fussy eaters as the aroma is very appealing.

Raw green tripe is the untreated stomach & intestines of generally beef, lamb or goat.
(herbivores)

It is a superfood for our pets.
Containing many valuable nutrients.
I like to add it into the diet 3-4 times a week.

Raw green tripe has the perfect phosphorus/calcium ratio of 1:1.

Tripe is full of digestive enzymes.
In the wild carnivores prey on herbivores and get a well rounded meal as they eat the gut contents of the prey, as well as the meat, organs and bones. Raw green tripe also gives our dogs some pre-digested green matter.
Dogs being carnivores, the enzymes in the green tripe assist to break down the proteins, fats, and plant matter in their meals.

Green tripe is also a great source of natural probiotics.
Green tripe contains lactobacillus acidophilus. LA helps digest and absorb nutrients in food, and helps produce amino acids and short chain fatty acids. LA also inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. This strain has a positive effect in the gut and is resistant against acid and bile.

Raw green tripe can help with digestion, IBS symptoms, and supporting the immune system.

Raw green tripe is high in protein and a moderate amount of fat also. Making it a great add on to meals.
Green tripe also contains manganese, magnesium, potassium 🙌

When purchasing tripe, we want to buy raw green tripe. Not honeycomb tripe ( the white tripe ) as this has been bleached and heat treated destroying the enzymes & nutrients. Dried tripe also will be nutrient deficient.

Where possible opt for grass fed raw green tripe. The greener tripe means the animal was fed a diet high in green grass compared to the paler tripe that usually means they have been fed soy and corn.

𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗜𝗧...

😳 "You shouldn't start a puppy on a fresh food diet until they're a year old"....what do you think they'd be eating if you weren't there to buy a bag of kibble.

😳 "Fresh food feeding is a fad"... that's a 30,000 year old trend I guess....

😳 "Bacteria from fresh food feeding isn't safe for dogs" - to start with dogs are not humans in fur coats, their digestive systems are different to humans which you would expect right because they're a different species.

Mother Nature made a dogs digestive system to eat its natural diet so it gave them a shorter digestive system, different pH and different bacteria to process that diet.

Kibble fed dogs sadly have a poor gut microbiome and they generally can't handle dietary change so maybe consider for a moment what diet is actually appropriate for a dog.

Fresh food feeding can be in raw or cooked formats. Many kibble fed dogs with damaged gut microbiomes do better on a cooked diet to start with.

😳 "It's not balanced" - a balanced fresh food diet utalises nutrients in their whole form, not synthetic vitamin and mineral mixes therefore the body actually knows what to do with those nutrients.

😳 "Dogs have evolved to eat kibble" - some breeds more than others depending on what agriculture was around where they came from have developed the ability to break down starch better than their ancestors but that's from necessity it's not because it's healthier for them to eat high starch diets aka kibble.

🤪 It's important to push back and ask questions, there are thousands upon thousands of Vets that support fresh food feeding dogs and there are plenty of studies that show the benefits....why we need studies to show that real food is healthier than highly processed is beyond me though.

Some help below with starting slowly to transition onto fresh food 🥩

Pop in before the easter break and stock up on some meat and bones, we now have duck necks/feet/wings + heads available

Dogs are designed to have highly acidic stomachs to dissolve bones and handle high bacterial load of scavenged food.

There are a number of reasons why todays dogs have such sensitive stomachs. Antibiotic use (especially as a puppy), a lack of variety of food and a highly processed diet contribute to reduced enzyme production, weaker stomach acid and reduced gut microbiota diversity.

If you’re looking to transition your dog to whole foods but aren’t sure if it will work, start slow. Add 20% fresh foods to the bowl. I’d you’re worried about how your dog will handle raw foods, try lightly cooking the meat first. A digestive enzyme is always helpful.
