Training for comfort & Confidence 🐾

Penny here requires routine Vet visits and understandably is quite uncomfortable with this. So we practice behaviours such as laying on her side and allowing different trainers to run different checks on her teaching her positive associations and calm interaction. 🧑‍⚕️

This is also valuable training for grooming and hygiene purposes such as nail trims. ✂️

Walkys Dog Training Academy is seeking a talented and passionate Casual Dog Trainer to join our team in Wollongong. The successful candidate will assist in providing high-quality dog training services to our clients and support our mission to enhance the bond between dogs and their owners.
Responsibilities:
Conduct dog training activities according to established curriculum and training protocols.
Evaluate dogs' behaviour and temperament to develop customized training plans tailored to their individual needs and goals.
Provide training techniques to address behavioural issues, obedience commands, and socialization skills.
Educate clients on effective training methods, proper handling techniques, and responsible pet ownership practices.
Maintain accurate records of client progress, training sessions, and dog behaviour assessments.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe training environment, including organizing training equipment, sanitizing training areas, and ensuring the well-being of all dogs and clients.
Collaborate with the team to develop new training programs, workshops, and educational resources to meet the needs of our clients and promote the growth of the business.
Represent Walkys Dog Training Academy in a professional manner at all times, fostering positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and the local community.
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a dog trainer or in a related field, with a strong understanding of canine behavior and training principles.
Certification or accreditation from a recognized dog training organization or association (e.g., NDTF, IACP, CCPDT) preferred but not required.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and dogs of all breeds and temperaments.
Passion for working with dogs and a genuine desire to improve their lives and strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners.
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy to effectively address behavioral issues and work collaboratively with clients to achieve training goals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and business priorities.
Availability to work one to two days per week, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client schedules and cover sick or annual leave as needed.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation to travel to client locations or assist at off-site training sessions as required.
