Animal Tech is dedicated to provide animals requiring mobility, stability and safety with custom Australian Made Orthotic and Prosthetic devices. Our custom Prosthetic and Orthotic devices provide an alternative treatment option for acute injuries or long term chronic conditions.

Biggie happy it’s Friday, chilling with his new brace!!

For a young Kelpie, Biggie is very laid back and took wearing his new brace in his stride. He has a custom tarsal hock orthotic with range limitation for the rehab of his partial Achilles tear.
He is closely working with for treatment of this injury.
This brace will allow for gradual increase range of movement at the hock as the Achilles heals.

Achilles Tendon Injury

Penny’s grade 2 Achilles tear is being treated with conservative management. This treatment plan provided by .k9.rehab combines a few treatment modalities:

• Shockwave therapy
• PRP
• Regular reassessments
• Custom orthosis
•. Rehab program with

A custom orthosis is required to immobilise the hock joint to allow the tendon to heal. This orthosis will be jointed with range of flexion movement gradually introduced. The orthosis is easier to manage for Penny’s family and the treating team to remove for regular appointments compared to a splint and bandage.

We have seen great results with this treatment pathway over the years. Even with our own dog Cooper who is back being an active Kelpie!

✨ Lupin ✨

Lupin and his dedicated owners came down from Sydney to ensure he was going to get the best possible fitting braces for his bilateral dropped hocks.
He might be small but very brave giving his custom braces a good test run before heading home.

While Lupin was in Northern Vic he also had a tailored rehabilitation program to assist with brace use and strength from
We believe it is so important to combine the two together to get the best outcome.
Ash and I look forward to being able to combine these two services for some of our clients in northern vic!

Sam standing tall and proud after his first fitting with his prosthesis. He gave it a good first try putting weight on it straight away.

Sam lost his lower leg to cancer and partial amputation with prosthetic management has provided an alternative option to a full leg amputation.

We think Wrath is pulling off the skull and cross bone pattern on his stifle brace! ☠️
Wrath has a cranial cruciate rupture and his owners have opted to manage it conservatively with a brace and rehab. We saw an immediate improvement in his walking with his first fitting, reduced limping, improved weight bearing and standing square again! Cant wait to see his improvements after more time.

Cat Prosthesis

Gaia was run over by a car in 2021 resulting in partial amputation of her left hindleg just above her paw and partial amputation of the toes of the right hindleg. She had been developing callousing and pressure on the end of her stump as she has been walking on it.
For cat prostheses to be successful we need a decent length of limb and a very placid cat! Gaia is so placid and tolerated the prosthesis so well! She is off to a great start, gradually getting used to wearing it and walking.
