Balista Lures began in 2008 from the idea of housing a flashing light inside a fishing lure. We spent years researching and refining this technology, thousands of hours were spent and continue to this day into developing new fishing lure ideas. Every lure contains a flashing red LED in the tail, the light is water activated and lasts for approximately 200 hours. This technology has been proven to

increase strike rates, particularly in dirty water, dawn/dusk, overcast conditions, after dark and when fished at depth. Finding time to get out fishing is always a challenge, when you manage to get out on the water it makes sense to give yourself the very best chance of catching a fish.

We've started rolling out the new Ultra Dark LED across some Balista models including the Shakinbait and also the Hunchback 90. When the technology is activated during the day it looks like the LED isn't working, it's just difficult to see during the day, the LED is this bright at night which is the optimal brightness for low light.
