What a weekend. 🤯😍
Mind blown over all the things we learned this weekend.
Thank you to the Murphy Duo + co for sharing your knowledge with us all!! We’re all so inspired to go try some new tips and techniques ourselves! 🙏🏼✂️
Hugest thank you to Nat from @progroom_pets and your whole crew, for organising this whole thing - without you, we’d be a far less educated bunch of stylists over here.
And of course, thank you to my team for being such a motivated, hard working bunch and sharing a car, room and whole weekend with each other (and me). I’m grateful to have such an inspiring bunch of women on my squad. 💕

Ending our 2023 with a whole lot of gratitude. 🥰
It’s crazy to think that back in 2017 we started as a small team of 2 with a dream to become more than just your average dog groomers. 6 years down the track and we’re so grateful to have a team of 9 individuals including multiple fully qualified pet stylists, an (almost fully certified) cat groomer, veterinary nurses and our baby stylists in the making.
This year has seen us grow so much, physically and mentally. We’ve upgraded our premises to introduce full time cat grooming, and a dog grooming facility that accommodates all breeds and sizes easily, we’ve seen our staff compete and place in grooming competitions around Aus, and we’ve attended about 10+ seminars and hands on workshops between the team throughout the year. Our passion for the industry we are apart of has grown so much during 2023.
We are so thankful for all of our clients, for trusting us to look after your pets time and time again. It’s an absolute privilege to be able to keep your babes looking and feeling their best at every stage of their life.
We appreciate every single client that walks through our door and greets us with a smile or a cheeky comment. We appreciate every single lick, tail wag, butt shake, purr and head bop we get and we are sooo excited and beyond grateful that we get to do it all again in the new year!
Happy New Year to you amazing folks! See you in 2024! 🎉🎊🥳
Antonio rocking his mullet to keep the hair from his eyes while he kicks everyones butt. 🤘🏼😆❤️🔥
It’s a vibe & we’re here for it. 🫧💕

💥SATURDAY’S ARE FULLY BOOKED FOR THE YEAR💥
That means, we have no availability on a Saturday, at all, for the rest of the year. (Although we might bring back the Saturday Splash & Dash when it warms up a bit ☀️)
▪️If you need a Saturday appointment, please join our waitlist.
▪️If you are on a schedule for Saturdays and would like to continue that into next year, please try and organise that as soon as possible.
▪️With alternating rosters to allow for Mondays being open, we will only ever have two senior groomers on a Saturday which means less available appointments on the day (next year).
Bookings cannot be made online for Saturdays (or Mondays) so please DM or organise in person at your next visit. 🗓
Mondays will be open weekly, as of mid September and we will be introducing late nights appointments on Wednesday in October to cater for all of those who need a Saturday but have missed out. 💕
Mid week bookings can be made online 24/7. 🥰👇

Teeth hurt regardless of the amount of aggression behind the bite. 🥲
Best way to stop your dog biting you, biting us, biting the brush, etc?
Desensitising them and training them. 🙌🏼🥰
It’s not our job to get bitten. It’s a risk we willingly and knowingly take every day, but it’s not our job. Your dogs behaviour is your responsibility and if you know they have behavioural issues, it’s your responsibility to disclose such info. 😬
Honesty is the best policy. We want to work with you and with your pets toward the safest & most enjoyable experience, but we can’t do that without your help. 🥰
Just your weekend reminder to brush your dogs. 🙌🏼
Tis the season of…. Unrealistic expectations?? 🤪
If your dog hasn’t been groomed, brushed or combed at in the last 12 weeks (sometimes less, sometimes more), there’s a high chance they’ll be getting a “shave off & start again” do, because we can’t perform miracles if your dog is one big matt. 🤷♀️
Having a matted dog increases the risk of:
•skin irritations
•bacterial and/or fungal infections
•a higher chance of cutting of blood circulation
•infections around the eyes, bum and hygiene areas
Shaving a matted dog increases their risk of:
•Clipper irritations
•A negative association with grooming
•Getting nicked/cut (generally due to the fact that they’re not used to being groomed and having matting so close to the skin! More on this later because it happens!)
So, moral to the story - get your dogs on a regular schedule to keep them in good condition & to get them comfortable and confident with the grooming process because its a big part of their life! And well… if you don’t, make sure you have realistic expectations. 🥰✂️
**Most dogs that require haircuts should be on a schedule of 6-8weekly unless you prefer them shaved short for practicality & then we’d recommend every 12weeks**
No Ma’am, you do not need to listen to that crazy person dropping me off! 🙅🏻♀️🍑
Brushing your dog is SO important if you’re chasing a well maintained, cute and fluffy fur babe during the cooler months. ❄️
Most important spots to brush for a fluffy trim:
🔹Legs & Feet - front, back, inside and outsides of them
🔹Face - comb through the muzzle & beard
🔹Ears & Tail - Brush them out & then comb through to skin
🔹Chest - Especially after wearing a harness because they rub & create knots
The body is an important part to brush too, but to be fair, the legs & face are the most important. (IMO)
We can do a shorter body and still keep a cute cut & if worse comes to worse, that’s where a jumper will go, so if you do have a fashionista who loves winter clothes, it’s better to have a shorter body to prevent serious matting. 💕
Our winter product list:
❣️ProGroom 2 in 1 or Tangless Shampoo
❣️ProGroom Rehydrating Conditioner
❣️ProGroom Detangling Spray
❣️Slicker Brush
❣️Metal Tooth Comb
If you need help or advice on home care for your babe, please hit us up. 🙌🏼
One day we’ll learn how to communicate that sentence in dog language instead of human 🙄🤣
Happy Fri-Yay Fam 🤣💕
It’s Friday and we’re just here for the lol’s! (Or maybe we’ve officially lost our marbles? 🤪)
We’re sure every service based business owner or employee has experienced a similar situation before! Deciphering client requests and expectations are part of what makes us good at our job, right?! ✂️
Our tips for instructions if you’re not someone who says the magic words “do what you like” 🥰
🐶 Be realistic -
No, we can’t make you’re Maltese look like a standard poodle because the coat type is completely different. The same hair cut on one coat looks totally different on another.
🐶Bring reference photos -
Make sure the photos you’re bringing are dogs with a similar coat type to your dogs (for above reasoning)
🐶Make sure you’re doing the leg work at home -
If you like a super long and fluffy teddy cut, but you’re on an 8 weekly schedule and you’re not brushing your dog at home, your next visit will likely be a shave off. What you do at home matters more than what we do in one appointment.
🐶Assess your budget & schedule before deciding on a cut -
Long cuts are high maintenance; more salon visits, more washing/drying & brushing between visits, as well as being a more expensive style.
Short cuts are low maintenance; they might not look as pretty but if you’re short on time, or trying to pinch your pennies, it might be time to try a short style for a while.
And at the end of the day, hair grows back so you can always experiment to see what you do and don’t like. 😄
