Our beloved golden oldies need a little extra care as the weather heats up! Here’s how you can keep them happy and healthy:
✅ Soak or wet feeds to boost hydration, reduce dust and help prevent choke. MITAVITE® GUMNUTS® easily soaks into a soft mash—perfect for senior horses with poor teeth.
✅ Provide salt daily to encourage drinking:
• 30–40g for 400–500kg horses
• 15–20g for 200–300kg horses
• 5–10g for 100kg ponies
✅ Boost calories for seniors struggling with weight—add oil, a fibre supplement, or a conditioning pellet from the MITAVITE® range.
✅ Lucerne hay is your friend! It’s nutrient-dense and provides quality fibre as grass dries off.
