"The BC x girl" UPDATE

Almost 6 days in care..
And today is day 1 of properly eating... And so far, keeping it down.
She is still not 100% - and we are still very concerned for her 😞
Her energy levels are still low and she isn't quite where she should be...
But a tear was shed this morning as she enthusiastically ate her first bit of food and then searched around for more. But slow and steady at this stage, she will be offered another small meal in a few hours and we hope she is as eager for it as she was for her last meal.

Over the course of her time in care so far, this little one has been on 2 sets of different meds, been given hydralites every few hours, been offered broth, chicken, rice, prescription food... ANY bland food just to get her to eat, had countless baths, had 3 tick treatments and people picking ticks off her entire body for days and has been so incredibly sick that even lifting her head was too much effort for her.

But today, for the first time, we see small tail wags of hope ❤️

We still have more vet visits, her basic vetting to pay for, more meds, more prescription food, more of whatever she needs to get her healthy again

But we are so proud of this little one, weathering her own storm and starting to hopefully come out the otherside.

It has been so touch and go, but today we think we can finally and officially welcome this beautiful, gentle girl as a soon to be adoptable of the Friday's Legacy family ❤️

JAY AND SILENT BOB UPDATE!

Jay and Bob are settling into city life with their carer, enjoying the comforts of living inside and having endless cuddles on tap 😍

Some of you may remember their story we spoke about when they first came into care, and the lumps these boys had. Jay had a bump on his little chin as a result of a suspected broken jaw at some stage and Bob had one on his head as a result of some kind of trauma.

Well, boys will be boys, as they say, and while these 2 were having a wrestle and a play, Bob's bump on his head has burst 😲 So he will be off to the vets very shortly to make sure he's ok.

Yet another Friday's Legacy baby having a bit of a rough time at the moment 😞

This gorgeous girl was kill listed last week.

She looks pretty happy in her photo here - mainly because she probably didn't know what was going on at this point. Maybe she thought she was going on some mad adventure on the back of a ute, and happy to see what the new day would bring.

But shortly after this photo was taken, she was led into the loud and confusing pound. Packed full of others just like her. Unwanted, dumped, stray and surrendered animals. And then she realized.

Her enthusiasm for the day faded. Confusion and sadness set in as she realized... Nobody was coming for her. The adventure wasn't an adventure afterall.

We saved her. A FLAR foster carer fell in love with her photo and immediately put her hand up - asking us to please help her. We couldn't say no, she was placed on board transport and made her way to Brisbane.

It became apparent not long after she arrived, that she wasn't quite right 😞

Her foster carer is still waiting, hopeful and with open arms, but our beautiful girl is currently still stuck in strict quarantine with FLARs President.

Vet visits, tests, prescription diets, meds, we are throwing everything at this girl, just willing her to get better and with every tiny step forward she takes, there's a leap backwards straight after it.

At the moment it's believed she may have a very, very severe case of gastro which is completely draining and dehydrating her, she needs more tests and will be making yet another trip to the vets today for further investigation. She should be feeling alot better than she looks to be feeling at the moment and we are really worried for her at this point 😞 We need to figure out what is going on with her! Why isn't she recovering?!

We see a tail wag now and then, her eyes are screaming to please help her... And we are so desperately trying.

🙏🙏🙏 We need some help 🙏🙏🙏

Firstly, we need everyone to put out some good healing vibes for our lady. Wish her well and hope with us that she pulls through this - Whatever it may be.

Next we need a name. Our president has struggled with this - wanting the most fitting name with a meaning of strength, or a fighter... And nothing fits. Please drop your name suggestions below, we'd love to hear them and give this girl the dignity of being more than "the BC x girl"

And lastly, any gifts with funds towards her treatment would be so greatly appreciated. We have not seen a vet bill yet but it is coming 😞

This is what it looks like when they see city life for the first time. Cautious, intrigued, happy, scared, relieved... All at once.

All because a foster carer said YES.

Please meet Bear ❤️ fresh off transport and on the way to his foster home where he will be staying until he is ready for adoption and his forever home. You may recognise him from our urgent plea post earlier in the week - the beautiful Mastiff described as a big, sooky, teddy bear 🐻

UPDATE: Foster carers found - thanks so much everyone! 😊

Jay and Silent Bob have come from a farm where threats were being made to shoot them 😞 We knew this when we agreed to help them, but as it turns out, there was a few things we weren't made aware of aswell 😞

We were approached by locals to help and these 2 boys who have made their way into the care of FLAR have attended their first vet check up this morning 🥰

At just 7 weeks old, these 2 look to have had a pretty ordinary start to life 😞 Jay has sustained a bite from an older dog to his face and has some scarring from teeth marks on his head. It also appears that at some stage, Jay has possibly suffered from a broken jaw which has not recieved vet attention 😞 so it's therefore possibly growing incorrectly and formed a type of abcess under his little chin. A biopsy was taken today which has confirmed this lump is now infected 😞 so Jay has been sent home with meds and will need possible xrays down to the track. Unfortunately there may not be an avenue for treatment for Jay to correct his jaw if it is growing incorrectly but that doesn't change the fact that he is an adorable little guy and will grow into a stunning young man 😍 and I hear scars are pretty cool aswell, right?!

His brother Bob also looks to have sustained some sort of trauma to his head which is very similar looking to Jay's. Biopsies were taken from the lump on Jay's little head aswell, which again, has confirmed an infection 😞 so he is on meds at the moment with his brother.

Both boys will need some extra love and TLC and will be kept in care until they are fully recovered so will not be ready for adoption for some time.

This has meant more unexpected vet bills for Friday's Legacy so at this stage, our intakes will be limited or may stop until we are able to catch our breath a little.

For now, welcome to the Friday's Legacy family Jay and Silent Bob ❤️ We are so glad we were able to help you with a fresh start to life.

Onwards and upwards for you 2 boys now 🥰

LOOK WHO KICKED PARVO'S BUTT!!! 👊 OUR LITTLE FIGHTER IS HOME!!!

Our little Bella is so far responding to treatment and although we are still in watch and act mode, monitoring her behaviour and recovery, she has shown big signs of improvement and is already blossoming into that inquisitive, vocal and energetic puppy she should have been all along!

FLAR president spent an afternoon with Bella's carers in Bella's foster home, preparing for the return of this little one and Bella's carer welcomed her back with huge open arms ❤️ Many tail wags were had as Bella returned home with her special diet, meds and her new sassy attitude in tow.

Bella will now need several weeks to fully bounce back, the illness has ravaged her tiny little body, which was in poor condition to begin with 😞 Her bones are more visible now after refusing food for so long, she is skinny and frail but despite this all, she just keeps on fighting! The odds were definitely against this little one and her very costly treatment was not going to be a guaranteed success - but we wanted her to at least have a chance so we continued to fight with her - and she has defied the odds and shown her true fighting spirit!!

We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to Bella's fight - we couldn't have done this and continue to help other animals in need without your support and it means so much to us to be able to have helped Bella and the others who need us.

Bella's revised vet bill has come in at $1324.90 (thankfully a little less than first quoted!)

We are still a little short of covering the total bill by $129.90, but have managed to raise a total of $1195!! Which is just incredible! It means so much to us here at Friday's Legacy to have this kind of support 🙏

This is just the beginning of Bella's vet bills, with some of her parvo bill still needing to be covered as well as her basic vetting yet to be done on top of follow up visits - and this is only if Bella continues on the right path to recovery. If she declines in any way at all, she will need to go back to the vet and be hooked back up to drips, be given more meds, etc which will push the cost up even further. Although we are quietly confident this won't happen given the big smiles we are getting from this little love now!

Given we are such a new rescue, all of our vet needs are having to be paid up front, which is a huge financial strain on us. We have a lot of dogs in care and a new kill list we are trying to help with.

💔💔💔 URGENT HELP NEEDED 💔💔💔
6 MONTHS OLD AND ALREADY FIGHTING FOR LIFE

Some of you may remember this little one...
We had an enormous amount of both foster and adoption interest for this little love and we were ecstatic to bring her into care with an amazing foster carer.

The happy ever after should have started there, but unfortunately it hasn't 💔

This poor pup is now in the care of our vet fighting for her life.

She has parvo. And we are devastated.

We need urgent help to keep this beautiful pup alive. We are all she has and we won't let her down. She has started her treatment and we have already been quoted $1500. Payable now. With more costs to come.

I am pleading for some assistance to help this girl - even if it's $5 or $10 - it all adds up and will give her a fighting chance. We are a brand new rescue and this will now put a stop on any more animals coming in - we simply can't afford this kind of treatment so early on. But we are doing it. We have to. She is 6 months old and she deserves a chance.

Our rescue bank account is in the process of being approved so any deposits for this treatment will come into my account. I will post all invoices as I recieve them to verify these funds have gone to help this girl. The vet has said no to my request to have funds paid directly to them.

🆘 URGENT!! QLD BASED FOSTER CARER NEEDED!!! 🆘

I am a young Mastiff x boy with lots of energy and love to give!

Nobody can tell me what I seem to have done wrong to be left in this dark pound - I'm so confused and lonely 😞

The man here says I need to eat because I'm so skinny, all my bones are poking out but my brothers and sisters look the same as I do - is that bad? I see now that I've never really had anyone who really loved and cared for me properly... Can you show me what that's like? Can I come and stay with you? Just for a little while?

This young Mastiff man was left to die in a rural pound and is in dire need of a dedicated foster carer who can show him some serious love and TLC. He is quite high energy after being locked up in the pound for so long but may settle over time. He is incredibly skinny and has been mistreated but his eyes say he wants to love and trust humans, he just needs to be shown how.

** You must have secure fencing and no small children purely due to this boys high energy as he may knock littlies over as he tries to play **

Experience with big breeds a must - this man needs time, patience and guidance.

This boy is absolutely beautiful. At 2 years old this "red boy" is calm, quiet and quite relaxed. Ranger advises he is good with other dogs but he is just a little timid and unsure to begin with. He is such a lovely boy who loves some affection

🆘 URGENT!! QLD BASED FOSTER CARER NEEDED TODAY! 🆘

My family moved out of our home and left me behind. I waited for them, but they never came back. I didn't know what to do so I just kept waiting until one day some friends picked me up and left me at the pound 😞 I'm still a bit confused as to why this has happened to me, but I have been promised my life WILL get better, I just have to wait a little bit longer but that's ok, I know better days are coming 🤞

This gorgeous young boy is on the smaller side of medium and we believe he is an Amstaff x. He is less than a year old and weighs around the 20kg mark. Good with other dogs.

🙏 URGENT FOSTER CARERS NEEDED TO SAVE THESE LIVES! 🙏

11. Mastiff x - extremely skinny and in need of TLC desperately! -SAFE
6 & 7. - 2 x 18 month old Ridgeback x, littermates, 1 male and 1 female - SAFE
9 & 10. - 2 x 8 month old Ridgeback x - SAFE

These are some of the dogs we are trying to assist, but without willing and committed foster carers, we just can't help them as they will have nowhere to go 😞

Almost all of these dogs are under 2 years old and are in remote and rural pounds. If foster carers are found, they will be transported to Brisbane within the next couple of days and will be lucky to escape the fate they are currently facing: euthanasia.

This is the nature of these pounds - an animal being held over is rare (almost non existent) because as soon as a pound is cleared, there are already more dogs coming in.

A foster carer saying "YES" is their only hope.

Again, please be genuine with you offers - ideally we would like animals to come into care and stay put with one carer until they are adopted.

4. Mastiff pup - has sustained burns to his face 😞 just 8 months old - SAFE
5. Male red Kelpie - just 2 years old - SAFE
6 & 7 - 2 x 18 month old Ridgeback x, littermates, 1 male and 1 female
8. Male Border Collie just 6 months old- SAFE

*All dogs are reported to be good with other dogs and no other info about them is known *

If we can help even a just a couple of these dogs, it will lighten the load for other rescue groups who may also be able to help 🙏
