Playful, friendly, and sociable, Nik is practically a canine saint.

Meet Nik, Male, Born 11/05/2022.

This social pup could share a home with canines of any size from tiny chihuahuas to giant great danes. Nik could comfortably live alongside children as young as five years old. Although Nik is polite and calm in his interactions with little ones, he expects all humans in the home to be able to play with him and give him well-deserved scritches. He would LOVE LOVE if the humans in the home could throw a ball or soft toy for him to play with and zoom after. Nik would be very content to spend up to six hours home alone as he can entertain himself with toys and enrichment. Like a typical greyhound, Nik is a bit of a couch potato. He is content with one or two daily 20-minute walks by your side and a play before snoozing the afternoon away. Nik may be a bit nervous of a few new things in life, but with his humans by his side his confidence will flourish in no time.

If you’re looking for an angelic presence in your life, Nik is your hound. He is a friendly and loving soul who will be a blessing in any home.

Countdown to Christmas with us while we spotlight 12 amazing greyhounds! Fourth up is big-eared Scotch! ✨ Scotch's Christmas wish would be a big fluffy dog bed in the sun for him to snooze his day away while you're at work!

Scotch will be ready to move into his furever home very soon, but give us a call if you would like to meet him sooner!

Chips is an a-peel-ing little potato! It is hard not to fall tater-ly in love with this sweet shy girl.

Meet Chips, Female, Born 18/11/2020.

Chips can be a bit hesitant about hugs, but she loves the company of people and will appreciate a gentle pat or ear scritch. She is ready to be your loyal shadow, supervising whatever you're up to with the utmost curiosity and affection. Chips would thrive in a home with another greyhound or large sighthound to show her the ropes of pet life. Chips is content to be home alone for up to six hours, more with a sighthound buddy or enrichment. Chips would do best in a home where all the little fries are 14 years old or older and understand she is not one for constant touches or hugs. However, chips would LOVE if the younger humans could play with her with a ball or rope as they are her absolute favourite. Like most greyhounds, Chips is a bit of a couch potato. She would be content with one or two daily 20-minute walks before returning home to snooze in her bed or chew on a treat.

You’ll quickly find that Chips warms up into your best spud, and you'll be cooking up a friend-chip for life!

No need to light up the bat-signal, Batman is ready to swoop into your life and save you…from boredom!

Meet Batman, Male, Born 21/12/2021.

This playful and outgoing hound is on a mission to add excitement, play and laughter into your life. Unlike his comic book namesake, Batman has no issues being part of a team. He would be happy to share his lair with a medium or larger sized canine accomplice. The human sidekicks in Batman’s life should be 14 years old or older. He sometimes forgets that his size and excitement for life can be a little much for smaller humans. You won’t find Batman brooding in the darkness when alone as he can spend up to six hours solo happily keeping himself entertained with toys. If you have a ball or toy on your utility belt, Batman will be delighted to zoom after it. Every hero needs to protect his city and Batman is no exception. He would love a 20-minute patrol around the neighbourhood before returning home and recharging for his next mission. Darkness may not be your ally, but Batman sure is!

We want to say thank you to everyone who came along to our recent Adoption Day. Your support means the world to us and to our greyhounds. We loved to see so many greyhounds going into their forever homes at this event and we can’t wait to see many more find homes this holiday season. Could that be with you?

🌡 Perth’s temperature is on the rise as we truly get into the summer season and it is important to help our furry friends beat the heat as much as possible! 🐾

Just like you, your pup would love a refreshing frozen treat in this heat. Homemade doggie pupsicles are a fantastic way to help keep your dog cool and hydrated.

For our greyhounds, we made pupsicles using shredded chicken🍗, blueberries🫐, strawberries🍓, and a baby carrot🥕 as a popsicle "stick".

If it’s your pups first time introduce these treats slowly to not upset their stomachs, and always check with your vet on which ingredients would be appropriate for your individual pup!

Beautiful Beau is a playful greyhound with a personality that just glows. Beau just loves to be with his family and is always ready to go with the flow.

Meet Beau, Male, Born 29/07/2021.

Beau is a social butterfly and wants to give every person he meets a good sniff, lick, and hello. Though Beau is dog friendly he can be a bit of a buffalo and forget what is beneath his long legs and toes. So resident canines should be medium sized or larger to keep up with his happy and bouncy show. Beau has been assessed to be unable to go home with felines. All humans in the home should be 14 years old or older as Beau sometimes forgets his manners when on the go and zooming with a toy. Beau is a loving and loyal companion that wants nothing more than to be by your side, but he can spend up to three hours solo. This could be lengthened with a canine sis or bro. Beau is ready to bounce around the neighbourhood on one or two 20-minute daily walks before returning to his chateau.
Beau’s energy, affection, and playful nature will make any human feel like they’ve won the lotto.

Pedro may have small, floppy ears, but his heart is as big as they come!

Meet Pedro, male, born 25 July 2020.

This charming greyhound is all about fun, with a bubbly, social nature that’s sure to keep you smiling. Pedro has home life experience, mastering toilet training and polite leash manners. He’s charmed his foster carers who say he’s been a breeze to have around. A lot of love in a small package, Pedro enjoys meeting new people and making friends everywhere he goes. Pedro loves toys but plays politely. He enjoys throwing balls, rope toys, and soft toys around, keeping everyone entertained! Pedro equally loves water, and can be found splashing around and “snorkelling” any chance he gets. Pedro has experience living alongside large ‘hounds but could also live with small or medium sized doggos. Pedro has also met horses! Pedro’s human friends could be from nine years old. While he’s a social butterfly, Pedro could manage up to six hours without his people, likely more with a canine companion. Pedro has an eye condition called Pannus, which is treated with daily eye drops and doesn’t affect his quality of life.

Damian Martin Catches Up with GAP Adopter, Alexis

GAP Ambassador Damian Martin caught up with adopter Alexis and her two lovely greyhounds, Neil and Anna. Alexis adopted Neil early in 2023, and decided a year was long enough to add second special 'hound to her home! You can add a greyhound to your home this May for just $75! Gypsy the wonder dog. As a part of National Greyhound Adoption Month Ambassador Damian Martin has been catching up with adopted ‘hounds and their forever families. Meet Gypsy and his adopter, Suresh. Suresh and his young family were excited at the prospect of adding another loving dog to their family alongside their Staffy x Kelpie, Apollo. The GAP Team set to work finding Suresh and Apollo the perfect match, and along came Gypsy! Gypsy was a superstar when joining Damian to create the National Greyhound Adoption Month materials. We’re sure she’ll be proud to hear about Damian’s foster, Turtle doing so well with the Martin family!

Ann and her adopted greyhound, Tommy enjoy retirement together. As a part of National Greyhound Adoption Month Ambassador Damian Martin has been catching up with adopted ‘hounds and their forever families. Meet Tommy and his loving owner, Ann. In retirement, and with a lifelong passion for dogs Ann found herself missing having a canine companion. Hearing of a Greyhound’s relaxed nature and low exercise needs, Ann decided to reach out to the team at Greyhounds as Pets. Now Ann can’t imagine life without her Tommy!

Damian Martin, 2024 National Greyhound Adoption Month Ambassador

Wildcat legend, Damian Martin Joins as GAP Ambassador for 2024 National Greyhound Adoption Month. Greyhounds as Pets WA are excited to welcome Damian as our ambassador for the 2024 NGAM. The Olympian and six-time National Basketball League champion recently met fellow retired athlete Gypsy the greyhound in his ambassador role. “I know cats and dogs aren’t traditionally best mates but greyhounds get along with everyone, even this Wildcat,” Damian said. “Greyhounds are quirky characters with big personalities and they’re wonderful entertainers, winning fans everywhere they go. I’m a bit jealous, actually.” Throughout April, Damian will be catching up with adopted greyhounds and their families, sharing their insights about greyhound adoption. Damian will be at The Camfield on April 13 from 11am to 4pm, along with some of GAP’s adopted dogs, to talk greyhounds with potential new adoptees. Launching National Greyhound Adoption Month today, Damian said April was the ideal time to contact GAP and team up with an easy-going pet like Gypsy for $75.
