It was a busy day today, which I love! I also love meeting new doggos, which isn't as common given we haven't been taking on new clients for grooming for a year now. Most retail customers don't bring along their dogs, but you are always welcome to. Check out this little pup Didi Lagotto X Spaniel. At 10 weeks old she's already excelling in her training.

Meet Howie, he is a little dog full of personality in the best way. Howie recently had his eye removed after a very excited dog knocked him over. But even after such a traumatic experience, he still has his wagging tail full of confidence and joy. Dogs are just so great!

Happy Sunday and Happy 13th Birthday to my Belle. I thought I would share a picture here as a lot of you ask me at every visit how she is going. Belle is my little fighter who has somehow survived with some horrible odds against her in her last two scares. As you can tell, I spoil her rotten, especially after the experiences she has been through and the trauma she still deals with. Every day is a great one with this girl around ❤️

If you are after a fabulous doggy cake (although the lovely nutty smell is tempting to try ha) we cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks to Andrea and Willow for running a fabulous small business and having that uplifting experience in store which is what we strive for here at Bath&Bone as well.

Hobsons Bay City Council You need to do better! How about supporting us instead of working against us in so many ways.

RARE COMPLAINT. My shop is 100 sqm there are approx 30 similar sized factories in this small allotment of land. is charging me $4700 a year for rates. That’s a total of $141.000 a year just from this small group of factories. We maintain our own grounds paying extra for body corp. We have flooding on Hudson’s rd that has been complained about for 6 years…. Meanwhile council are looking for ways to reinvigorate the zombie land of closed shops! Free parking! Funding for a festival? Ffs make it affordable to run a business

We will have altered trading throughout September as I try to rest an elbow/wrist injury from over doing it with grooming in the past few months. Baxter is rocking our cosy dog harness, which I had imported from the UK (we are the only retail supplier in Australia). I love these harnesses because they give a better range of motion with those shoulders in comparison to most harnesses that are on the market, certainly all the trendy ones. I'm seeing and hearing of lots of adult and older dogs suffering from shoulder and elbow pain as a result of long-term use of harnesses that restrict the shoulders' natural range of motion. It's something I'm very passionate about as my own dog has severe long-term damage from the very harnesses that were once recommended by vets. These cosy dog harnesses are also fleece lined to help with any rubbing.

We're back from 8am tomorrow and here's some back in stocks to snap up
-SPD SLOW Cooked Turkey is back (my new fav) and I have added wild boar, which is super low fat and great for any pups with gut issues. We love these little packs to keep in the cupboard for those days when you want to make up lickimats or flower/honey pot enrichment or just to make that dinner more enticing. $4.50 each
-Paw Gentle Ear Cleaner.. if you have a pooch with ongoing ear issues you need to be adding in an ear cleaner (also some synbiotic) to your weekly routine to keep that bacteria and immune response at bay. $22
- Synbiotic powder this is the holy grail biotic because it's a probiotic so you are getting that good gut bacteria in, but also prebiotic which means it has the fibres to feed that healthy bacteria making up for a healthy dog! If you have a dog suffering from a**l gland issues, tummy trouble, skin concerns, ear issues, this is a must, along with a fabulous diet. Things like routine worming and flea treatments also kill the gut bacteria, and being on oral antibiotics will make it an uphill battle (often taking years) to get that gut thriving again. It can take months to renew a damaged gut so my top tip is to stick to it daily long-term to gain the benefits and reduce those vet trips. $22

We've added Prime 100 Beef & Veggie and Chicken & Veggie as requested $19 for 3kg. Great for multi dog households because it's a large roll and also great for those none single protein doggos to enjoy.
Also added a liquid bone broth from the art of whole foods. Super healthy for a vitamin and immune system boost. A great healthy but yummy addition to a fussy eater but also perfect frozen enrichment when the weather warms up $10.60 for 500g

With about 75% of dogs coming in with itchy paws in the last few months this a great read for those that want to try tackle the issue longterm. I like that Bill always has an open approach in his explanations and teachings. If you are using kibble as a main source of nutrition LifeWise is the best I have independently found on the market which is why I stock it and sell it much cheaper than everywhere else. However, also a good read for those on cooked, dehydrated, raw and semi-raw (slow cooked or steamed rolls) diets.
We also have a fantastic synbiotic (which is both pre & pro biotic) supplement which I would highly recommend adding into your dog's diet (my view is that all dogs should be on this longterm.. maybe I can explain why another time) no matter the type of diet your dog is on.

We have zero partnerships or contracts with any brands or companies, so you know everything we recommend and/or stock has been independently reviewed as researched to provide you with the best.

Just finished a chat about all things dog grooming at hobsons bay vet puppy school and realised when I saw this little girl that I never posted her pictures. Peggy had her first puppy groom session a few weeks back and did so well. We even got a Poodle face and paw clip started!
Puppy grooms are so super important and best to start during that "sponge learning" phase at 6-16weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing this little one grow! 🐩

When we had the fire a few years back I had a few dogs become unwell and get skin infections so let's avoid that this time around by staying clear of any contaminated areas
