If you are considering adopting a dog but they are deaf, don’t for a second think this makes them less of a great family member.
Being deaf means they rely on your visual cues such as hand signals and body language to communicate. Instead of using a clicker, whistle or verbal marker to mark behaviours, you can use a thumbs up or fist flash to mark the behaviour you want to see more of instead. The first step when teaching a deaf dog is to get them focused on you. 🐾🐶🙉
