Same principle can apply for MOST machine exercises.

How hard should you push? 💪🤔
It’s important to train with the right level of intensity. The intensity should reflect your program’s goal. 🎯
Here’s a small trick you can use to help find a good starting point the next time you perform a new exercise. ✅
#FitnessTips #StrengthTraining #TrainSmart #WorkoutGoals #ProgressNotPerfection
“I will start when I’m a bit fitter.”
“I’ll come when I get to my baseline.”
“Let me just work out alone for a while, then I’ll join.”
“I don’t think I’m fit enough for this program yet.”
These are things I hear often when I sit down with people. The truth is, the key to progress is simple: just start. Surround yourself with a supportive, friendly community, and keep showing up.
I can’t stress enough the power of showing up. Show up when you don’t feel like it. Show up when you’re tired. Show up when you feel like quitting. And one day, you’ll show up because you love it.
You’ll start to enjoy the workouts, the challenges, the community, and even the post-training coffee chats.
Instead of looking for reasons why you can’t, say to yourself, “Today, I get to…” It’s a choice—and you’re in control.
Love you all,
Rob
✨ 2-3 times per week of strength training is now recommended by COSA! 💪🏋️♀️
While this might sound new, strength enthusiasts and gym regulars have known the power of consistency for years.
The toughest part? Staying consistent. Even with a simple training plan, you’ll see progress if you stick with it. 📈
For many, 2-3 sessions per week is the sweet spot to maintain consistency over time.
🔑 Remember the 80/20 rule: 80% of your workouts might feel average, but in 20% of them, you’ll think, “I’m crushing it!” 🔥 And that’s perfectly okay.

How Often Should You Update Your Program?
At Cancer Fit Australia, we refresh our programs every 12 weeks to keep your progress on track. For special situations, like clients undergoing chemotherapy, we may make small weekly adjustments.
Why stick to a program for 12 weeks? Because your body needs time to adapt to see real results. Changing routines too often can disrupt this process. Consistency helps your body improve, while minor tweaks along the way can keep things safe and effective.
For our chemo clients, these small weekly changes help adjust the workout’s difficulty and exercises to match how they feel each day, while still focusing on their overall goals.
Achieving the right mix of consistency and flexibility is key to reaching your best outcomes.

💪 One of the first exercises we introduce to our patients post-abdominal surgery!
After completing our prehab program, most patients receive clearance from their surgeon around 6-8 weeks post-op. From there, we focus on core strengthening for the next 12-24 weeks. This is one of the progressions we guide our patients through when they return for their follow-up sessions.
