For those of you who haven’t heard of our pending retirement it’s now official.
Thursday was our last day of deliveries and family cartons.
Many thanks to all our loyal supporters for your kind wishes, notes and gifts. It has been an absolute honour to be able to supply you and your families with our fresh, organic produce.

This weekends Farm Gate sales will open Saturday only, between 9am till 4pm.
Limited selection as we are drawing closer to the end of the season.
Butternut Pumpkins, Golden Nugget Pumpkins, Zucchini, Capsicum, Potatoes, Celery and Rhubarb.
This weeks special will be the Golden Nugget Pumpkin.
This tasty versatile pumpkin has many uses.
1: Cut and drizzled with Maple Syrup and baked until golden brown.
2: Simply cut and steamed with the skin on and served with a little garlic butter.
3: Cut the top off, scoop out the seeds, steam until soft but firm and fill with your favourite filling.
Pumpkin Risotto,
Savoury Rice,
Savoury Mince or Chilli Con Carne,
Spinach and Caramelised Onion with Feta
or simply serve with Pumpkin Soup, and you can also eat the bowl.

After an early start to the season our tomato crops are now starting to wind down and may only have a couple of weeks left.
Currently we have 4x10 kg cartons available to go, and will have another 5 to 6 cartons during the week. So if you are keen to grab one now is the time, either message us on Facebook or ring 03 4301 0000 to secure your carton.

African Boneseed.
Beware, African Boneseed is creeping into our region, this w**d has already played havoc in New South Wales and is now spreading throughout Victoria and has been declared a pest by the Department of Agriculture.
It was identified by a couple of customers at the entrance to our property last week. They helped me pull up a few and brought it to my attention for the potential for it to take over.
On looking it up I learned it can produce up to 50,000 seeds per plant, with a 60% germination rate.
The seeds are spread by birds, foxes and wallabies. It grows 2 to 3 meters high and can live for 10 to 20 years.
I have now removed all plants from our property and roadside and disposed of the plants in our burn pit.
Please keep an eye out and help eradicate this w**d before it’s too late.

Unfortunately Lakeview Organics doesn’t meet the criteria for the Pomonal Growers and Produce Market this coming Sunday, so with an abundance of freshly picked organic vegetables we have once again opened up our farm gate sales for the weekend.
So if you are passing or coming back from the Pomonal Market and need a top up and want to support a local grower, please call in.
With Halls Gap only doing minimal trading we have a surplus of freshly picked vegetables. Beans,cucumbers, zucchini, golden nugget pumpkin, capsicum, celery, assorted cherry tomatoes, tomatoes, Pink Fir fingerling potatoes and introducing Gem Squash, a South African delight, Steve will give you some tips on how to prepare.

Today’s C.S.A cartons are ready to go. As we move further into Summer the seasonal collection increases, coming soon sweet corn and golden nugget pumpkins. Our cartons are 100% organic and grown here on farm in Stawell, picked fresh and contains whatever is available at the time, we have limited supply but if you think you might be interested for a weekly commitment of $ 35.00 we are putting together a list, so we can contact you when we have enough produce. Messenger works best for us, but if you prefer you can leave a message on 03 4301 0000 and we will return your call.

Steve is off to the Concongella Primary School Market today , it’s going to be a hot one so come early and grab some beautiful heirloom tomato plants. Glenda will be selling from Lakeview Organics, 340 Pomonal Road, Stawell from 9.30. Please bring a box.
