•Why rice hulls?

Chookies love them and mites hate them- mites don’t like the slippery shell of the rice hull and unlike straw, hay and shavings find them hard to stick to.

Together with a regular treatment system, your chookies can be mite free.

•Why bio-dynamic?

Bio-dynamic growers use a variety of materials and techniques to develop healthy humus levels, good structure, and biological activity in the soil. The Australian Demeter Bio-dynamic method of Agriculture produces healthy, living, structured soil. Healthy plants, animals and humans are a result.

• Are they cost effective?

Cheaper and easier to source than h**p and cleaner, drier and better for your chookies than shavings, mulch, hay or straw. Ideal for deep litter methods. Easy to clean and long lasting .

•What can they be used for ?

Suitable for chook pens, brooders, stables and calf sheds.

Used, they’re wonderful for vegetable gardens as they add valuable biodynamic material to your soil.

•Are they dusty?

Our supplier uses dust extraction machines in their processing - see and feel the difference in our hulls!

Albert is a purebred 2 year old Silver Porcelaine Rooster.

Whilst he has excellent feathering, a nice comb and great colouring, he is too big for my needs.

He is a great producer and is super kind and intelligent rooster. He is super sweet to his ladies.

Sadly, due to his size, he is surplus to my needs and needs to find some new digs.

Home is imperative and he is not to be sold on.

Kitten update 🤍💙
4 weeks yesterday
The blue of their eyes is really coming out
We’re on the loose for a bit of time during the day and exploring the world !
We aren’t scared of much
We’re very vocal and starting to play with each other
A few of us have starting eating our Advance kitten biscuits too 🤍💙

Does your family eat copious amounts of silverbeet?

Well no, I’d be hard pressed to get one or two takers 🙄🙈

However my chickens do!

We grow silverbeet both normal and rainbow, specifically for our chookens

They get a couple of ‘serves’ a week and absolutely love it!

Thanks to Vitec Organics our raised garden beds are now planted out with our winter Veges and looking the goods

Silverbeet is always a priority, easy to grow and quick to harvest 🌱

How do you keep your pens looking so nice ?

BEFORE AND AFTER 🤍🐓

This is such a simple way to keep your coops fresh and maximize the use of your hulls and literally should take you 2 minutes per pen.

Each day, I rake out any feathers, food scraps (mine leave silverbeet stalks), give it all a good fluff and retake it all so it’s even

Viola !

Like clean sheets for chookens

Super simple and time effective!

We love these fabulous waterers and feeders 20L

On hot days, I pop in a frozen Icecream block and it chills the water down perfectly, when finished, pop them back in the freezer for next time !
