Exciting news! I am currently on maternity leave as we eagerly await the arrival of a new pack member. Brooklyn and Luna can't wait to meet their little sister πŸ’•

During this time, the website will be temporarily inactive, and I unfortunately won't be available to take any inquiries as we will be prioritising family in this time.

We appreciate your understanding, and while I'm uncertain about the exact return date, I look forward to coming back refreshed and ready to share more paws-itive training insights with you.

Thank you to all of the incredible clients that have made this year such an enjoyable one - you will all be missed! Keep up your training and homework - your dogs will thank you for it.

To anyone looking for a trainer to assist you and your furry friend, please ensure that they are fully qualified in Dog Training and Behaviour, and practice up to date and scientifically backed methods of positive reinforcement.

Meet Oreo πŸ‘‹

Oreo has BIG feelings about a lot of things but mostly seeing other doggies out and about. His mum is learning how to communicate with him and manage him in these moments, as well as how to help him be his best self in other areas of his life.

Just before these photos, Haley mentioned to me that she never thought it would be possible for her to take him out on walks like this by herself, so I had to capture the moment.

Small moments of success over time = big change.

Rome wasn't built in a day but I can already see the changes that are happening and watching the bond between these two build is the best πŸ’•

Dogs communicate through body language, so in order to listen to them and help them, we have to learn more about them as owners and dog lovers.

Continuing on from previous post about Baz and his fear of cars - this was the next step. Sit in the car and chill.

The car isn't on, we aren't going anywhere, and we were allowing him to indicate what he was comfortable doing. In this case, he had his lead off, I sat in the boot and just waited. He came up on his own and eventually sat next to me for pats and treats.

These might seem like super small things to owners who have dogs that don't experience anxiety or issues with certain triggers, but these were massive wins for all of us today and a huge step in the right direction! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yesterday's socialisation session with Aura and Brooklyn went so well πŸ‘ We worked on a super slow introduction with lots of distance so both dogs felt comfortable, and this also meant Aura was still able to listen and check in with her parents due to low arousal levels.

Introducing two new dogs, especially excitable pups, should always be done slowly and positively. Doing it slowly allows for your dog to remain fairly neutral, rather than going completely over threshold and losing their marbles - this can be too much excited play as well.

Super proud of Aura and her parents, as well as Brooklyn for being a great little helper dog 🩷

Meet Dexter 🐾

Dexter is navigating his new world with his new family and has been doing so well. We are working on basics like recall, interrupting undesirable puppy behaviours and redirecting him into something more productive, and teaching his owner about everything puppy 🐢

Meet Coco 🐾

Coco has separation anxiety due to going through three different homes in her first year and a half of life, all through no fault of her own.

Janet, her owner, is committed to being her forever home and has been doing everything she can to help her settle in comfortably!

Coco is also reactive to sounds outside the home and extremely excited when she sees other dogs outside, so here we are marking and rewarding calm behaviours at the front door. She did so well. 😍

See you again soon ladies!

Meet Winston and Millie 🐾

Covid pups from the same litter, these two beautiful dogs are experiencing reactivity with unfamiliar dogs, separation anxiety, and Winston has a fear of most men.

Slow and steady wind the race in cases like these - Rome wasn't built in a day!

Dogs deserve our patience and understanding, and that trust is earned by listening to them. They don't speak our language, so we must learn theirs - body language.

Meet Bailey 🐾

Bailey has formed a habit of intense self-grooming in order to regulate his emotions. His mum is committed to helping him and is doing everything we have recommended - teamwork makes the dream work!

Keep an eye on when or where your dog licks as this may indicate pain or stress.

Meet Elsa!

Elsa is a new pup that is not only figuring out where she belongs in her new home and how to act like a good girl, but is also sleep deprived, which never helps the situation.

Did you know that pups need 18-20 hours of sleep EACH DAY?!! Not many people do. And it's rare for a puppy to take themselves for long, restful naps. Think of them like babies - babies are forever fighting sleep but we know it's best for them to rest, otherwise they are not themselves.

Swipe to the second photo to see Elsa relaxing in her new crate, which will help in making a safe place for her to rest 😊

Instagram vs reality of puppy photos πŸ˜‚

Meet Barry AKA Baz

Baz is not only figuring out how to be a pup in this new, big world but also how to be calm and gentle around his 3 young human siblings.

We are using lots of management techniques, teaching the kids about doggy body language, and teaching Baz about better choices he can make in certain situations.

Consistency and clear communication is key πŸ”‘

Meet Remy and her new soon-to-be giant sister, Minnie the Great Dane!

Remy is nervous and shy around dogs due to lack of socialisation as a pup and a negative experience when she was young, so introducing a new dog into the house quickly resulted in her retreating to the bedroom.

Her parents reached out so they could approach the situation with some professional guidance, and I am so happy they did. After one session of implementing some management strategies and boundaries with the dogs, Remy is now comfortable and happy enough to roam the house again πŸ‘πŸ‘

Looking forward to our next session and to seeing their bond grow slowly but surely 🐌 🏁

Meet Bonnie!

Bonnie was an only child until Zach came along - swipe to see the big boy in all his cuteness.

They have done so well getting into a new groove together but just needed some help bringing Bonnie's excitement levels down around Zach and also around the young kiddies in the family.

We have introduced some new cues into the home so their owner can communicate to the dogs what behaviour we are after, this way, we are providing direction and setting them up for success.

Bonnie is also going to be utilising her crate for regular undisturbed naps in the day so she is getting the right amount of sleep for her age, resulting in a calmer and happier pup rather than her being frantic, tired and overstimulated.

Excited to see their relationship blossom with time πŸ₯°πŸΎ

Meet Bonnie!

Isn't she beautiful? 😍 We are working on making walk time something both her and her owner can enjoy, without being pulled the entire time. We will also be training recall and working on some new reactive behaviours that have popped up with certain dogs.

Introduced Brooklyn to a walk & train session to increase distraction levels for Lola - this means we got to practice her commands around another dog in order to strengthen them.

We also worked on confidence building as we had Brooklyn to demonstrate actions first to show Lola that big rocks and creaky park benches aren't scary to interact with. They made a great little team πŸ₯°πŸΎ

Meet Aura 🐾

Aura is a new pup that is learning to navigate the world around her and co-exist with some cats and chickens, as well as her new humans! There is a lot going on but she is so eager to learn.

Her parents have started her off on the best paw possible by getting a trainer in to help them all communicate and figure out a plan of attack to have the calmest environment possible.

I can't wait to see Aura's progress! 😍
