If you were affected by delayed trains at Deer Park on Friday night, we promise you it was for good reason!

Two runaway dogs made their way onto the pit at the station and trapped themselves on active tracks.

Thanks to some quick-thinking PSOs, a call to V/Line was made and the oncoming train came to a halt.

To save the day (night), PSO Senior Adin Shepherd and PSO Manpreet Oberai entered the pit to save the doggos who were hiding under the stationary train with passengers on board.

V/Line staff quickly identified the dogs from a Facebook post shared in a community page reuniting pups and their owners- all within the space of 30 minutes.

With minimal delay to train services and nil injuries to any persons or puppies, we’d say that's a job well done!
