And that’s a wrap for 2024 dog walking 🩷 I would like to thank all our current walking clients for an amazing year 🥰 and thank you to our past clients of 2024 for allowing Katie paws services to have worked with your dogs too.
Without all of you we couldn’t run without all of you.
Hannah and I are about to start the crazy Christmas pet sitting season & we will return for dog walking Monday the 6th of January, I will contact our walking clients a couple of days before hand.
We hope you all have a merry Christmas and a happy new year 🎄

It’s extremely hot today and sadly I saw people walking there dogs this morning 😢 this breaks my heart
No matter how much education is out there and also myself advocating for dogs as they don’t have a voice but I do, people still walk there dogs in the really hot weather and leave them in cars 😭 I won’t stop educating people until I never hear or see dogs being walked in the hottest part of the day or see a dog left in a car then I know my job is done.
Please keep your fur babies safe today

With this hot weekend and Monday being 41° here is what you need to know about heat stroke 

Have you heard of a dog dying from missing one walk? No but I bet you have heard that walking your dog in the heat of the day can.
Did you know a dog can die from heat stroke in only 15 minutes ? Dogs who suffer from heat stroke only 50% of them survive.
If your dog is suffering or maybe have heat stroke seek emergency veterinary treatment.
With the next two really hot days of 34° and 35° please be careful with your fur babies and keep them cool inside. These are some signs to watch for in dogs for heat stroke.
High body temperature
Restlessness or agitation
Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
Drooling, often very thick salivia
Change in gum colour dark red ,pale, purple, or blue

As the condition worsens, signs and symptoms progress to include:
Vomiting or diarrhoea (possibly with blood)
Increased heart rate
Lethargy or collapse
Dizziness - are they struggling to walk in a straight line? Signs of confusion, delirium
Muscle tremors
Seizures
Unconsciousness

Just a reminder to all our walking clients that Hannah and I will be having our annual two weeks off dog walking last day 20th of December and will return Monday the 6th of January 😊 but don’t worry we will be busy with our craziest year of pet sitting since pre COVID times 😱
Just a side note I am fully booked for pet sitting and will have a cancellation list.
