Why are we a not for profit organisation?
It's simple.. So that You get a great deal on all of our products.

And it's also so that Fish Care Australia can fund the research and development of new and more efficient ways to clean up our Australian waterways from pollutants, due to farming, plastic pollution & radiation ☠️.

The Asian Arowana also known as the ”Monkey fish”, has been known to jump up to 3 metres out of the water to catch its prey from the branches of trees 😲!

These fish are amazing to keep as pets, but we must forewarn you that they require a rather large aquarium or pond.

Sometimes things take longer than we anticipate and I hope you can forgive us for the radio silence.

You see, a group of us have a grand vision for FCA, which is to use the money made from sales and donations to directly fund the improvement of waterways around the world. Our mission isn’t to make a profit, it’s to make a difference.

I’m happy to announce that FCA products will be back later this year. We have a lot to show you all and I pride myself on the ability to create products like no other.

So stay tuned and get ready for Australia’s best.

Thanks for sticking with us.

Always a treat to come across the Dumpling Squid on a night dive. We observed this Southern Dumpling Squid (Euprymna tasmanica) at CYO’Connor beach, North Coogee, Western Australia. It was only 5 or 6cm in size and was continually burying itself in the sand, leaving only its eyes poking out 😊

Are you a Queensland resident?
What does the Great Barrier Reef mean to you?
It takes 15-20 minutes and it could help protect the future of our Great Barrier Reef!

In this survey, as a Queensland resident living alongside the Reef, you will be asked about what it is like to live in regional and coastal Queensland, your perceptions of the Great Barrier Reef, and your thoughts on how the Great Barrier Reef should be protected and managed.

How we came to exist

My name Mark and I am the founder of Fish Care Australia, some of you may already know me but for the people that don’t. I grew up in Australia and was born in the late 80’s before the aquarium industry was really a thing. At about the age of 2-3 years old my older brother would take me on “Yabbie hunts” with him in a small place called Palmwoods in Queensland Australia(although this area is sadly going through massive changes in current times). My brother had found a small private farmers dam that had blue coloured yabbies naturally occurring in this one damn. My brother Adam is who I have to thank for my passion with animals and of course I can’t forget to thank my Mother Maria Davenport, who put up with me bugging her to take me hunting for new fish and also helping me to afford these things. A lot further down the track(after about 20 years) the aquarium industry was really taking off and new fish and new filtration systems were becoming very common and as the industry grew so did my hobby of keeping fish. You see, I worked in the technology industry, running multiple business and travelling the world for work, it was so stressful that I started to buy more and more fish tanks, until one day I had purchased a 15ft long x 5ft x 4ft fish tank and a trio of exotic fish. It was at this point I realised, well I needed to start making my own things as medications were very expensive to treat such a large tank daily with the current melafix and pimafix products that are available. So out of interest and fun, I wanted to see what could be improved and I aimed to make it a heck of a lot better. The first problem was, well I spilled fish products on me regularly or I was regularly covered in fish water(as some of you reading this are probably thinking “yep me too”), well this concerned me when I learned that the most commonly used emulsifier had carcinogenic effects. But I don’t want to bore you all as it is a long story, it took place over 2-3 years before Fish Care Australia would come along. I did a lot research, consulted with Marine Biologists, let professionals test it and the response We received for our first product Super Fix was “What’s in it !?” “Where do I get more?” From there we have had a lot of people asking about the precise ingredients list, but as the Colonel says “it has secret herbs and spices”. For this precise reason, Fish Care Australia is in the processing of filing a Patent for its founding product. But what comes from all of this? Well Australia is in serious economic trouble and so is its Flora and Fauna, this is why Fish Care Australia is committed to sourcing all of our materials locally and working with our suppliers to ensure high quality ingredients every time, this helps to keep your money circulating in Australia. We do not substitute, We only accept the best and continually work to improve on what we have already created. I hope you can see the intent behind these words, soon enough we will be in every store Australia wide. And we will be the number fish care help & advice group in Australia. Thank you for reading!
