The Sunshine Coast owner of a dachshund named Duff has shared her devastation after her beloved pet was mauled to death by another dog while out on a walk in Caloundra last week.

Tiffany Torrie said her mother was walking her dog and two other family pets when the attack occurred.

Great news about important funding received 👇

The Pets in Crisis program provides emergency accommodation and care for pets of victims escaping domestic and family violence.

We’re nearly doubling our funding to the RSPCA QLD and DVConnect to deliver the program. This will allow them to almost double their programs intake.

Because pets are family too.

We also know perpetrators can harm or threaten to harm pets as a means of controlling or intimidating victims which can also prevent victims from leaving an abusive situation.

Now, more than ever, we need to let victim-survivors of domestic and family violence know they are not alone, and support is available – for them and their pets.
