September is always our least favourite month in the dog grooming industry. Coats left long through the winter with no extra brushing or grooming to prevent this from happening. Matting is a serious health issue for dogs and needs to be spoken about. Please know that this post is not to shame any owners but to simple educate. If your pooch comes to us with matting that is too severe to remove, we will always do what is best for your dog and clip under the matting to avoid pain and discomfort. Trying to remove this type of matting any other way is pure torture to your pooch and we pride ourselves on the health and safety of each dog. These kind of grooms also take extra time and wear on our equipment so you will be charged accordingly. If you are more concerned about the way your dog looks over its health and well being we are not the groomers for you.

BREAKING NEWS! I, Georgia, the owner of Pawfect Pooches Dog Grooming, am moving to a salon space from the 1st of October! The salon is located on Oakmont drive, Buderim. All of my current clients are absolutely welcome to follow me, however, we will still have 2 trailers ran by Jess and Chloe who will happily take you on as their own ☺️ unfortunately due to the bath size at the salon I will no longer be able to groom large dogs :( (over 20kgs).

I will also finally be able to take on new clients once again! So exciting for me 😍

My working hours will be;
Monday 9am-2.30pm
Tuesday 9am-4pm
Wednesday 9am-4.30pm
Thursday 9am-2.30pm

It's starting to get a bit chilly guys ! (Well, chilly for the sunny coast am i right?😅). We know this means our clients want to keep their Pooches coats longer. But do YOU know what this means?! You got it! BRUSH BRUSH BRUSHING. And not once a week, with those soft bristle brushes that barely tickle the tips of the coat.. We're talking daily, line brushing with a firm slicker brush over the entire body and then going over with a metal comb to check for mats. We actually stock the brushes and combs we use ourselves for your convenience (and for your excuses hehe). Curly coated dogs, especially poodles and poodle crosses, WILL get matted if this home grooming isn't done. And unfortunately, if your dog is too matted, we can not keep their coats long :(. Alternatively, you can book in more frequent hygeine grooms with us over the winter if you're struggling to find time for daily brushing!

Please, do not be ashamed if your pooch does end up needing to be shaved short (this is much more common than people realise). And WE ARE NOT HERE TO JUDGE YOU. We even have some cute wooly jumpers in stock for this exact situation! I know what you're thinking.. these guys think of EVERYTHING. What can I say, we love our job and even more so, we love the comfort of your dogs! So much that we will refuse to put them through the pain of brushing out excessive matting. So please, do not ask us to do this. We are proud of our choice of comfort over vanity. And just a little secret for anyone that doesn't already know, your pooch does not hate how they look after being shaved. Dogs do not have the ability to judge their own appearance (thank God right? 🤣 just kidding). If your dog seems upset after a hair cut, it will most likely because you are projecting your own emotions onto them. And guess what?! Their coat will grow back! Isn't it a miracle?!

WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS! We have just hired a new groomer to run our second trailer! Jess is a wonderful young lady that has just finished 6 months of training, is fully insured and ready to take on new clients next week! Jess is passionate about dogs and keen to start building clientele asap.

Jess has quite a lot of experience with washes and desheds, however she is wanting to gain more experience for full grooms (dogs needing coat clipping) so she is offering 40% off for the first 20 dogs requiring full grooms that book in with her. These can be new or existing clients with Pawfect Pooches.
