We would like to wish you and your furry friends a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. We all love to treat our dogs at Christmas but be mindful of what you give them. Some foods can be toxic to pets so keep your best friend safe by avoiding these.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we'd like to remind everyone NOT to share their chocolate treats with their dogs. Yes we know you love them but chocolates can be life threatening for dogs. If you want to give them a treat, why not head over to Loyality Pet Treats... they have a great range, you will be supporting a local business AND your dog will love you for it β€πŸ•πŸΎπŸ¦΄

Happy New Year. Just a reminder to keep an eye out on your pets tonight, with fireworks, legal or not going off.
Tips to help you get through it.
1. Make sure your dog cannot escape the yard or your lead.
2. Don't fuss over your dog if they show negative signs. This only reinforces this type of behaviour.
3. Give your dog something to do. Run a training session, play a game with your dog.
4. Treat your dog for the behaviour you want.
5. Expose your dog. Go to a park near a site with fireworks. Happy Valley is a great place as it's around the corner from all the commotion of Kings Beach. Follow points 3 and 4.
The key here is reward and create the behaviour you want and don't acknowledge the unwanted.

So you're getting a puppy for Christmas.
(Never buy someone a pet for Christmas)

You've researched the breed so you know what you're in for.

Working breeds need mental stimulation as much as physical exercise. They require strong leaders.

Guardian breeds need little work and exercise. They are solitary animals that look after property and livestock. They aren't for people who want a dog for sports.

Terrier breeds are energetic and alert dogs. Smart and vocal, they require as much as a working dog.

Toy breeds are the show ponies of the lot. They were bred to sit in the laps of aristocracy. They don't take as well to training as other groups.

We've generalised the above list in a effort to get you to research your dog breed.

You've bought the following items:

Crate
Pen to keep puppy safe
Collar
Lead/leash
Flea, tick, and worming tablets
Food bowl
Water bowl
Water bowl for crate
Soft toys
Chew toys
Lure toys
Dog food to match the breeders food
Dog food you might want to switch to
Treats
Treat pouch

You've done your due diligence.
Settled on a vet.
Found the A/H vet.
Found a sitting service or a kennel.

Training starts the moment you pick up your dog. You've written out a list of commands. If there is more than one person in your household, give them the list too. Write it out and put it up on the fridge.

Our bread and butter is based on people not kicking off right with their dog. The longer you leave a issue with your dog, the longer it'll take to fix.

In all cases a pet is with you for their life. If you make the wrong decision it's sad to say most won't see their next Christmas.

Be responsible please.

One for our Rottweiler owners. We have a few 😁

Dear Customer,

Congratulations on acquiring your Rottweiler .

Please find the instructions for your particular model listed below:

Although your Rottweiler comes fully assembled, due to particular issues during production, we do occasionally have issues with components such as screws. They invariably are either loose or missing altogether.

Mode 1: This is the sleep mode, activated for the majority of the day as the Rottweiler ages. This is normal and you should not worry about it, just accept the peace and quiet while you can.

Mode 2: Anarchy. Although we have tried to ease the effect of anarchy mode, it’s not always possible. There are inherent issues with the timer settings of anarchy mode in regards to there being none. Should your Rottweiler suddenly go from comatose to running around the walls, we cannot stop this feature.

Sunlight: Do not allow your Rottweiler to stay in the sun too long. They can burn if left unattended but they also recharge. Too much of a charge and mode 2 can be activated without warning.

Energy consumption: This has been an ongoing issue as their energy consumption is too direct. We have tried to put baffles, non return valves and diversions in place but none seem to work adequately. Safe to say what goes in comes out, in both solids and gas. The gas, although noxious, can only inhibit breathing of the owner for up to ten minutes.

Naming: Your Rottweiler comes untitled as we feel owners should use names of their own. If you are unsure, we have listed below a few names our owners like to use:
Leave it
Nutjob
You’re kidding me
Is that yours?
Don’t you dare
Ok, you
Oi!!!
Put that down
Why?
Get that out of your mouth

The zipper: We ask you not to try to open a Rottweilers zipper on their back as this will invalidate your one hour warranty. Rumours that they are merely toddlers in a dog suit is highly contested.

Software: Your Rottweiler is pre-installed with the highest software and hardware. This includes the loyalty chip, the steal the dinner chip, fun chip, the biting chip and, of course, the highly popular mayhem chip. They are all running on the Whatthehell operating system 12.2. Although this has been in circulation for many years, we have found it simply cannot be improved upon.

Should you have any queries you can reach us on 1800-what-did-I-do

Thank you.

We hope you have many years of enjoyment with your Rottweiler.

Please be aware that by the time you have read this, your warranty will have run out.
Unfortunately, we do not renew warranties and we do not offer refunds or returns..ever. It’s your problem now.

Hi Guys. Sorry to have to do this but all sessions have to be postponed this week.
Make sure you get out and exercise with your dogs. Take them for a walk. Practice at home and while it's quiet in the parks. Work on your focus while you are there.

We met Tator earlier in the week. Tator has a few issues that we will be sorting out over the coming weeks.

We'll be working on leadership training with the whole family. Some place and crate training (already having a positive effect). And loose leash walking and socialisation, when out and about.

People ask me when I suggest crate training, "How long do they stay in their crate?".

The first year my dogs don't come out of their crate unless I am with them and can manage their behaviour.

When I get a puppy I make sure to take 4weeks leave to bond and train. When I go back to work puppy is all good to be in their crate.

The second year my dogs have free time out during the day, but I still keep an eye/ear out for what is happening. When I go to work puppy is back in their crate. When I go to bed puppy goes into their crate.
At year three if I have been doing training and my dog is respectful then they have all the freedom in the world. I now have a dog that doesn't chew on anything it shouldn't. My yard has no holes. My dogs listen to me and my family, and are well behaved community members.

My puppy is exercised daily, trained daily, and left with safe enrichment toys to exercise/stimulate the brain as well.

At 4 years of age I still find my dogs happily chilling in their crates for some them time.

We met Dusty today. Dusty is going through his first fear stage.

Dogs generally have two fear stages. The first at about 6 months and the second around 18 months. It is important during this time not to blow things out of proportions. A loud noise occurs and your dog cowers behind you, ignore the behaviour. Your dog starts barking at a stranger on your walk, ignore it and keep walking.

Being a strong leader will give you a resilient dog.

COVID syndrome is where you may have purchased your puppy during a lockdown phase, and weren't able to get out and socialise. We can help with your dog with this.
