The HoundHouse dog kennel was born out of the realisation that no kennel was designed with the dog’s well-being as the focus. Mark Wood, the founder of HoundHouse, designed the first kennel for his dog Tyson. Mark needed a kennel that was warm in winter; cool in summer, aesthetically pleasing and hygienic. Tyson was the first dog to sleep in a HoundHouse & loved it, always in it, & thge love for his new home inspired Mark to produce the HoundHouse for other dogs. The demand followed & the journey began.

The outside of the HoundHouse dog kennel is made from a waterproof, marine grade canvas that is typically used in off-road campers, 4×4 canopies, quality camping tents and soft hoods. The canvas has a unique thurmal quality allowing the weave to open in the dry and hot weather to ventilate & expel heat. In the wet or cooler months of the year, the canvas will contract, creating a comfortable barrier to the elements for your dog to rest & sleep comfortably. The flexible PVC fibre mesh floor & canvas tie in mattress will support your dog as they relax or sleep, taking the pressure off their joints. The floor will flex as the dog lies in the kennel, but will not sag over time. The mesh weave inhibits flea eggs attaching & hatching.
