Today is International Homeless Animals Day 🐕🐈 🐹
The International Society for Animal Rights introduced the day to spread awareness about pet overpopulation and has done meaningful work since, including saving the lives of millions of animals.
We're very grateful to all our local animal rescues on the Sunshine Coast, from cats and dogs, to guinea pigs, birds, reptiles and farm animals, they all work so tirelessly to help save every life they can.

It's so important to dispose of your fishing gear appropriately!!
Dolly was enjoying romp on the beach when her nose caught off whiff of something fishy 🐟 a tiny remnant of bait on a fish hook, unfortunately the hook became lodged in her top lip. Dr C-J was on hand to quickly remove it, to the relief of Dolly's owner.

Please dispose of your fishing gear appropriately or pick it up if you see it laying about, you're not only preventing injury to your pet, but to our precious wildlife. 🐬 𓅰 🐳 🐶

Meet the "Oh Sooo Handsome Loki" 🥰

This gorgeous boy found himself in a world of pain about 3 months ago while he was having a fabulous time down at Stumers Creek frolicking in the shallow waters. As he went to jump out of the water onto what Loki thought was a sand bank, he unfortunately hit a sand covered rock and suffered a full break to his front left leg. 😭

Being a late afternoon swim, he was whisked off to our friends at Animal Emergency Service Tanawha who did a fabulous job stabilizing Loki and as you can see from his Xray's, poor Loki broke both his radius and ulna. Ouch!! 🦴

The very next day, Loki was transferred to us for visiting Orthopedic Surgeon Dr Dion to operate, using a plate and several screws to align the broken bones, much to the relief of his doting owners.

Loki's family dedicated so much time to his healing to ensure he had the best possible outcome and we're pleased to say he was given the all clear last month and is back at the beach loving life again! 🐕🏖

Loki's wonderful mum made this delish cake (sooo yummy!) for the staff and gifted a little mini Loki teddy with a very special name tag as Thank You for his care. His family did such an amazing job with Loki's aftercare, he recovered and healed so much quicker than we expected. 🤩
