Pet Rest Cremations Personalised service for your beloved pet. Sunshine Coast owned and operated for 26 years. We are happy to work with you and your vet during the whole process.

We are a family owned and operated business based solely on the Sunshine Coast. Our staff members are dedicated, caring and passionate about the welfare of animals, and all have fur families of our own. Our goal is to provide a caring and dignified service to make the difficult time as easy as possible. At Pet rest cremations, we understand that it can be challenging to hand over your beloved fami

ly member to strangers, and as such, we have an open door policy. We are located within the grounds of the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge and greatly value the relationship we have with the organisation and volunteers. The Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge grounds are beautifully maintained in the tranquil bushland surrounds. Our team are all local residents and support Sunshine Coast small businesses where we can.

So most dogs (and some cats!) will eat anything... however there are some things that just aren't good for them at all- especially around Christmas.
Chocolate- the theobromine in Chocolate is extremely damaging to a dog’s kidney. Dark chocolate contains the highest concentration. Cats are also very sensitive to Chocolate!
Avocado- Some dogs will react badly to avocado!
Onion & Garlic- They are both toxic to dogs. Cooking them does not eliminate toxicity
Chewing gum- The artificial sweetener in gum (and many other sweets) can cause clotting and liver issues
Macadamia nuts- They affect muscles in dogs- Turkey stuffing often contains macadamia nuts
Grapes- Again another one to watch- some pets are ok with grapes (and sultanas) however we have definitely seen pets end up at the vet after consuming them- turkey stuffing and biscuits often contain these too.
Cooked bones- once a bone is cooked it becomes brittle and can splinter and break causing damage to your dog.
Also be careful with Avocado seeds, Mango seeds and the discarded corn cobs- they aren't toxic however many a doggo has ended up in emergency after choking on these

If you are spending your Christmas Holidays away this year and your pet will be in care- have you made plans for their vet treatment or service should the unthinkable happen?
Having a plan in place can really give you peace of mind and can allow you to ensure your wishes are met even if you are not there. At Pet Rest, we are able to keep your details and wishes on file- even just as an ‘in-case’, should anything happen while you are away.
We always contact families before proceeding with a service so that you know where your pet is and that they are safe and being cared for.
If you would like to talk about your options or create an ‘in-case’ plan for the holidays, please don’t hesitate to call us on 5439 6111 or email [email protected]

At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The allied armies had driven the German invaders back, having inflicted heavy defeats upon them over the preceding four months. In November the Germans called for an armistice (suspension of fighting) in order to secure a peace settlement. They accepted allied terms that amounted to unconditional surrender.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month attained a special significance in the post-war years. The moment when hostilities ceased on the Western Front became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war. This first modern world conflict had brought about the mobilisation of over 70 million people and left between 9 and 13 million dead, perhaps as many as one-third of them with no known grave. The allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of their war dead.

We will remember them.
