It is with great sadness that I make this post to let you know that I have officially closed down Wandering Pet Nurse.

I have truely loved running this business over the last 3 years and I have met so many wonderful animals and their owners. Wandering pet nurse allowed me to move with my partner to Swan Hill and back again but unfortunately it has been challenging to stay busy enough to support myself.

I will keep this page running and maybe one day I will be back, but for now if you have any questions or needs recommendations for other services I will check this page intermittently.

Winnie had a vet nurse appointment to get her a**l glands done.

She can get very stressed at the vet so having someone come to her helped reduce the stress and will hopefully start to build a more positive association with getting treatment done.

My vet nurse visits are usually 30mins. I say usually because of the ‘cat on lap’ rule. If a cat sits on my lap, I cannot leave 🐱

Yesterday I said goodbye to my little Jelly Bean. She was such a special kitty and we formed such a strong bond. Adjusting to life without my cuddly little girl is going to be hard, I miss her so much already 🤍
Please bear with me over the next few days/weeks if I am a little slow in replying to messages. I am still seeing clients but may have to cancel a few here and there to lighten the workload while I grieve.

Gorgeous Teddy and Valentine posing (and maybe a little bit shocked) after their nail clips today. Teddy and Valentines are indoor kitties so we clip their nails regularly to prevent them getting too long and causing injury.

This is little ✨Dottie✨

Dottie has been barking at people and dogs when she is out on walks. We had a private training session earlier this week, followed up with a walk and train today. She did very well today in a busier environment and is learning to disengage and be calm.
•
Fair to say she was exhausted after her session.

Yesterday I had a private training session with Chase and his mum Sarah. We worked on loose lead walking and ways to keep Chase engaged with his owner while on walks as he would like to stop and play either everyone that walks by.

He did a fantastic job and Sarah took on all the information ready to start training at home!

Sid & Dossie love their walk and trains. We have been working on loose lead walking, obedience skills and recall. They love every minute of it.

Today I went out to Lake Charm and did a training session with Steph and Kade and their beautiful dogs Tig, Ila and R***r to work on recall.
•
Recall is one of my favourite things to train because you can have so much fun with it! These three spend a lot of time off lead so it is important to have a reliable recall.
•

My number one tip for anyone struggling with recall is; you need to be more interesting than whatever has caught their attention. Whether that means running around like an idiot, making stupid high pitched sounds or having the smelliest, most enticing food your dog could ever ask for. If you are boring, why would your dog want to come back to you?

Little Oliver has been boarding with me for just under a week. He settled in very quickly and loved playing with all the enrichment toys but most of all he loved to sit in his tower and look out over his land 🐰🥬🥕💕

I have been medicating Izzie for over a year now as her mum is unable to (she can be a little bit cheeky). She has a few health problems now that she is in her senior years so daily medicate has made a massive improvement.
