4) The competition is judged by Adrian Schlemmer designer of Delta Grooming Scissors. Decision is final.

Congratulations to .grooming.corner Kaitlyn Adam on taking out The Best Scissor in Show Award Big Day Out For Dogs.

Kaitlyn won 1st in open Asian Fusion and Best in Group as well as 2nd in Salon Freestyle.

Even more exciting that Kaitlyn is already using her trusty deltas to compete.

Delta Grooming Scissors wanted this award to go to someone who has demonstrated excellent Scissor Technique and finish and who has worked hard to improve their skill set so we couldn’t be happier as we have watched Kaitlyn from her very first comp to now consistently placing and winning in strong competitions

Karl has been sharpening for over 30 years and is our designer Adrian’s brother. Karl was the original sharpener for Delta before taking a break.

Sharpline Edgeworks are now appointed as the Official Delta Warranty Sharpener.

Karl is the only sharpener in Australia who can do the microserration edge at our standard.
(Other than Adrian who returns several times a year from Japan)

Karl can competently sharpen all Delta and high quality Grooming,barber and hair scissors to a high standard including Left Hand Scissors.

Karl has undertaken ongoing and regular training in Japan and Australia with Adrian to ensure he is respectful of our brands and your scissors and to ensure he can care for our new designs as well.

Did you know all hairdressing, barbering, and grooming scissors must be cleaned regularly to preserve their sharp edges and protect the metal from damage caused by chemicals, which can lead to discoloration and corrosion.

Grooming products often contain salts, acids, straightening and smoothing chemucals and silicones that can harm the metal if left on the blades. These substances can transfer to your scissors (also your lungs ) through airborne particles during grooming, from contact with your hands, or from the hair being cut. They can also accumulate in materials like cases, holsters, and cloths.

Environments such as mobile grooming vans, trailers, home based and shopfront salons may have higher moisture levels if they don’t have good ventilation, increasing the risk of corrosion.

We have seen instances where scissors were cleaned, only to be exposed again to cleaning chemicals during routine tidying with transfer spray landing directly on the scissors.

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your scissors, it is essential to clean them thoroughly and store them in a clean, dry environment no matter the brand.
