SMUDGE 🩷 From skittish colony cat to queen of the smooches, she is a true kitty fairy tale.
A beautiful girl with beautiful eyes and a beautiful personality to match, you would never guess the hard start to life and early entry to motherhood this young girl had.
Smudge loves to be with her humans, she is not one for big pick up cuddles BUT she does love head bumps and to lap sit with you or on you for pats, chin and ear scratches and general companionship.
If you enjoy conversation, Smudge is your girl - she will chirp and chitter with you but she isn't a big meow cat, she loves the interaction people bring but is also very contented to be on her own, sleeping in puddles of sunlight on soft beds - something she has learnt exists since being in care.
Her favourite playtime is laser pointers or toys on a string. Watching this girl come out of her survival shell into a playful young cat has been amazing, and she is learning new toys and new things each week!
Smudge would do well in a house with another cat or cats of moderate temperament. She isn't really a wrestler, but she does enjoy the company. Smudge is used to larger dogs that respect her space and a household of teens and older.
Smudge has been in care since February this year she has watched all her babies go on to homes of their own, and still she waits in foster care for a family to choose her. Tamlin - The gentle giant white panther.
🔴253 DAYS IN CARE🔴
Tamlin came into care at about 8 weeks of age with his siblings, however he is the last man standing, looking for his furever home.
Despite his giant size at just 10 months old, Tamlin is a shy boy.
We aren't sure what happened, but poor Tamlin experienced SOMETHING traumatic before coming into care that has made him an anxious little big fellow, despite all the rest of his litter being entirely the opposite.
Tamlin has made much progress in care, but his final development will only be possible once he finds his furever Human.
Tamlin has come so far - from a hissy little spit fire to cautiously approaching for gentle head to hand butts
A big lover of food and snacks, especially pure treats, Tamlins favourite toy is pebbles. Yes, pebbles. He loves bouncing and hitting them around on the tile floors and will instantly pop his head out wherever he is when he hears the pebbles bounce or sees you pick one of them up.

BLAZE 🔥
Today our vet contacted us about a beautiful boy who had been surrendered to them.
Blaze is a gentle loving giant. He purrs as soon as you look at him and has so much love to give. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by other cats and dogs but has not yet been tested in their space.
He is approximately 4 years old and is in great health.
He will have had all of his vet work prior to finding his new home.

Jill is about 7 months old now and has been in care since she was just a little 10 week old kitten. She was found at a local colony with a large abscess on her face. She was very scared and quite spicy when she came in. She is now a healthy, fun, playful, and very affectionate little girl who would love a home of her own. Jill's new owners need to know that change is very scary for her, and she will need time to adapt to her new home, but once she does, she is a very sweet and affectionate kitten. Jill lives in a busy household with kids over 10 years old, and she loves them, so a home with older kids for her to play with would be great. Jill also loves furry friends of both the feline and canine variety, so some fluffy fur siblings would also be great for her. These babies have been through A LOT. They grew up as colony kittens with no human contact, severe ringworm and flu. They’re still adjusting to people, but with the right family will become beautiful, affectionate additions.

Quite often, timid cats are overlooked and forgotten. At the moment we are inundated with quiet cats waiting for adoption. Whilst timid cats take longer to come around, they end up being some of the MOST affectionate cats you’ll own. Timid cats need much more love and attention while settling, and when provided that, will bond and connect with their humans on a much deeper level.
Meet Bobo and Maverick (previously Maeve after it had been discovered Maeve had 🥜)
These brothers were colony kittens, therefore their social interactions were zero, they’d been taught to hate humans and be on alert 24/7 for basic survival. It takes a lot of patience to change their instincts, yet here they are trusting and learning.
Bobo and Maverick are available for adoption, and we promise that the reward of adopting a timid cat is beautiful when you give them that second chance at life.

Spike was part of our family of 8 that were found dumped on the side of the footpath back on March 3rd,
He is the last one left and we don’t know how! He is the most beautiful boy ever. Spike adores affection, love kids, other animals and his most favourite thing of all is to play. He is only 4 months old and is literally the perfect kitten.

We introduced these babies on our stories about 2 weeks ago. They are hopefully our last litter from our notorious Tahmoor colony.
3 boys and 2 girls - Sully, Mike, Randall, Boo and Celia.
We still have one baby left to catch who is already a little feisty.
We have desexed over 15 adults who have been returned and continue to be cared for.
We have easily rehomed over 50 kittens.
It’s been a long process due to overpopulation in such a short period of time.
We have two females left who continue to avoid our traps. They are the mummas who had these babies.
We can’t wait for the day we can announce we did it. We STOPPED THE CYCLE!

Roguey girl has quite the story! She was originally a stray kitten from a mumma we desexed from the streets along with her 2 siblings who also found homes.
She was adopted as a kitten but unfortunately through no fault of her own, she was returned to us about 6 weeks ago.
Rogue is a beautiful soul and a very loyal kitty. She isn’t a lap cat per se but loves affection once she has warmed up to her people. She loves to talk and loves her food. She would be ideal for a home looking for an independent queen, one who understands she will take time to come out of her shell.
She has so much love to give and just needs to find her special family 🏡

🐈⬛ 2024 has been our toughest year yet.
Stray cats this year have been at an all time high and we’ve had to say no to way more than we’d like. Winter is supposed to be quiet, but it isn’t.
Adoptions are slow, financial strain taking its toll on so many families. So we get it.
We don’t like asking for help unless it’s absolutely necessary, but right now it’s absolutely necessary.
Over the last few weeks we’ve had an amazing influx of donated food and bedding which has been super useful. However, with over 30 cats in care it generally doesn’t last too long.

Litter donations - litter is our most used resource. Paper litter can be ordered and sent to our many carers, this will help loads!
Monetary donations - any amount helps, this goes towards vet bills, microchips, medication and further resources like litter and food.

Let’s make a perfect ending for this sweet girl 💗
Everyone meet Timair, this beautiful girl was living in the drains for about a year on a quiet street. She was being cared for by a lovely lady named Jo.
In time, Timair had two kittens. Jo reached out to us for help as she wanted this family to be off the streets.
Initially, Timair and both her kittens were trapped as they were extremely terrified and it was thought they were all strays.
As we had no room, Jo cared for her kittens and found them a home together. Timair was taken to our vet to be scanned for a chip then desexed. No chip was found and this sweet girl soon showed her true personality.
Our vet Highlands Veterinary Hospital contacted us and said she was definitely a pet at some stage and is a very affectionate girl. They kept her for us and continue to care for her as we unfortunately still have no space.
Let’s spread the word and help find her a home! She is approximately 2 years old, is unbothered by other cats and dogs and would make a great pet to any family home 🏡

Zoe is almost 2 years old and extremely affectionate to her people! I anticipate her to be a little bit stand-offish to anyone new but give her time and there’ll be no one she’d rather snuggle up close to. Zoe is used to being the only pet with members in the family who work, however she’s always patiently waiting for her people to come home for pats and a cuddle at the end of the day. She’s used to young kids and would be suited to a home with or without children but would take a while to warm up to any additional pets. She is strictly an indoor cat based on the nature of her breed but would love access to a catio or outdoor area if possible.

Our big boofie Buster is still on the hunt for his forever home. Buster came into care with 21 other cats from a local colony we were working on.
He is 1 of the 5 left to be adopted and has been in our care since the 21st of January 😢
Buster is now about 6 months old and has been patiently waiting for his happily ever after.
Buster was very timid when he first came to care and has really started to shine the last few weeks. He can still be shy around new people but it doesn’t take him long to warm up, show off his beautiful purr and head boop you all day long. He has the chunkiest fur and shiniest coat. This guy would be a great addition to most home environments.
Our shy kitties are often over looked but we can guarantee when they are settled they are the most loyal cats and absolutely love their adopters.

Smudge was trapped from a colony by a lovely lady and was due to be desexed to be returned as a TNR. The night before her desexing, she gave birth to 4 little girls (all adopted) which was a big surprise for her carer. It was soon discovered smudge is a gentle soul and absolutely adores attention. She loves cuddles and pats, constantly purring. She was way too affectionate to be a TNR kitty.
She has been raised around other cats and big dogs who she adores. She did an amazing job raising her babies and is now ready to find her forever match.
She is an independent queen and would be perfect for a family looking to add a loving companion to their home.

🆘 Monday I caught Lady Belle and Jack Dawkins. Today with the help of some friends, their 5 siblings were caught. Full of flu, worms, fleas and ringworm. Skinny, sick, suffering. ‘Just’ feeding colonies isn’t enough, it’s making it harder for us to genuinely help. Please, if you know of anyone feeding this Bargo colony, tell them to STOP, only then can we catch them and put an end to all this unnecessary pain.
Unfortunately our little Yoki didn’t make it 💔 We are absolutely gutted. He wasn’t even in care for 2 days before we knew something wasn’t right. He was rushed to the vet this morning where he passed away shortly after. We asked our vet to perform a post-mortem. It was found he had an extremely large and severely damaged liver as well as a severely damaged gallbladder, likely caused by an infection. Nothing would have saved him. He was slowly dying. Yoki didn’t DESERVE THIS! We will do everything to make his life worth it and report this backyard breeder. Rest easy little guy 🐾
🧡 Sweet mumma Callie. It’s been 147 since she entered our care. She was heavily pregnant and gave birth to 4 perfect babies. 12 weeks later, her babies all found homes of their own, yet here she is still waiting for her turn. Callie can be quite nervous when in new environments and with new people, but as you can see, she is an absolute sweetheart when she feels safe. She will enjoy making biscuits in a quiet home without loud kids and dogs. She will rub against you for lots of chin scratches and loves unlimited affection. Don’t look past her. Adopting a mum who has been through so much is one of the most rewarding endings for us, and it can be for you too. Let’s get Callie a home she deserves. SHARE 🔄

Meet Pearl 🤍 Pearl joined us today from our wonderful team at @highlandsvethospital Pearl was a stray found in the Newcastle area. As you can see she is absolutely beautiful, affectionate and stunning. Unfortunately as she was a stray she developed cancer on both her ears, which required amputation. Kiko and babies update 🐾 Unfortunately Kiko managed to somehow escape her enclosure on Tuesday last week. We have no idea how she is extremely good at escaping and obviously doesn't like being contained. She had previously escaped a crate whilst heavily pregnant which astounded me and has since also escaped a cat trap. We thought the enclosure she was in would be safe as we could see no way she would be able to escape, but unfortunately she found a way. We left the babies there for quite some time in the hopes that she would come back for them but she didn't and it got to the point where we had to step in and begin feeding them. We will continue to look for Kiko and set some more traps in the hopes that she is still hanging around, the property she is on is a large acerage with plenty of hiding spots so we hope she is there somewhere. Its been a very stressful and exhausting week but on a positive note the babies have taken to the bottle well and are gaining weight and starting to move around and play. They are 4 weeks old today and are absolutely adorable although I am hoping they start eating on their own soon so I can go back to sleeping through the night. 🤍 Everyone meet Popcorn. Late last night we received an email from a lovely woman who had heard tiny cries from her garden while hanging washing out, then out popped this little guy, alone and hungry. We estimate him to be an itty bitty 4 weeks old, he’s very active, very cheeky, VERY loud and already shows off beautiful purrs. He is the CUTEST little bean 🥹
Not a single application 😭 Carlisle is the most perfect gentleman. He adores human snuggles, adores cat friends and will make the best family man. Consider Carlisle.. he’ll be ready for his new home this Friday, just in time for long weekend bonding & cuddling.

🍼 It isn’t often we have neonates as we struggle to find the time to care for them between work and kids of our own. Here is little Felix, refusing food but smashing syringes of milk. He has gained substantial weight and is absolutely thriving with the amazing Peita. Go little Felix, go!
✨ Every now and then there comes a cat who we have a special connection with. I’ve had a few this year, and majority of them have been adults who came from absolutely awful situations. This beautiful girl has already stolen my heart in a short 3 days. I’m obsessed with her. She is extremely scared, but is gentle and sweet in every way possible. She wants love, I can see it, I can feel it, and love is what she’s got. Fortunately her babies will never know fear, or hunger or pain, one day she will have her own happy ending and I just know I’m going to be a happy crying mess. #adoptdontshop #stopdumpingyourpets
