4 DAY ORDER CYCLE – FOR Wednesday pick up

Friday 9pm – Order creation
It’s an OPT OUT SYSTEM so if you don’t want an order for the coming week, you must suspend prior to Friday 9pm. Your “WISH LIST VOTE” and any changes you wish to make to your household size must also be done by Friday 9pm. Saturday - Starting Order Published
Login take up to 3 things out and JOIN SPLITS. Monday 9pm - CUTOFF
Orders closed. Cards charged. There are 2 automatic processing’s, if those both decline - a $5 recharge fee is applied as it pays for someone to manually reprocess. You must pay BEFORE pick-up. Wednesday - PICK UP. You must pick up day of delivery at the pick-up time or arrange with Hubster. PAYMENTS
You must pay for your order once committed to an order cycle. Once in an Order Cycle we cannot withdraw an order. It is your responsibility to suspend the correct weeks. ORDERING SYSTEM
Dead simple. You share boxes online using the App. SUSPENDING ORDERS
When you tick the date, wait, it will turn red to confirm suspension. You’re expected to order weekly or fortnightly. STARTING ORDER
There’s a Starting Order based on your weekly ‘wish list’ VOTE and you can take out up to 3 things. Every week BEFORE Order Creation do a Wish List Vote to help Hubster (person who organisers Hub) to set up Starting Order. SHARE BOXES known as SPLITS
If you wish for more, you join Splits and share boxes. You can suggest a box to share or to your Hubster. Such as saying to your group: “Who’d like to share a box of apples?”

At order cut-off you pay automatically online (Visa or Mastercard & Secure Eway Payment gateway) then boxes from growers & food wholesalers come to the Hubster’s house for packing. You pick up from their place or they may offer home delivery. FRUIT, VEG, BREAD, EGGS – Order, pay, receive this week
GROCERIES – Order, pay, receive next week due to fresh roasting of coffee and made to order. BREAD baker direct – Minimum HUB order total is $30
GROCERIES wholesaler direct – Minimum HUB order is $75. MEAT AND SEAFOOD (NEW) – Order every 4 weeks. READ THE AMOUNTS YOU ARE PURCHASING
Please check carefully if the items are single, handfuls, 500gm, 1 kg etc. Don't assume it's by one item. EXAMPLE: Cherries sold by the box, make sure you’re not putting in 5 thinking it's handfuls when it's boxes. Read the descriptions please. EXTRAS
There are ALWAYS extras as the box belongs to members so your Hubster will divvy extras when available. There is also usually a SWAP box - if you forget to customise your Starting Order, you can throw in some apples and take out some carrots that someone else did not want. You will get great value. COMMUNITY BOX
Many Hubster’s ask members if this SWAP BOX can become a COMMUNITY KINDNESS BOX given to a family in need. This is part of the Social Enterprise experience by being part of the Hub. NOT WANT AN ORDER? There are no contracts, you can suspend orders when you don’t want them. WANT EXACTLY 1 tomato 2 oranges? Then Box Divvy is not for you. This is a coop and things are in handfuls NOT exact items. You need to be flexible but you'll always get good value. We are a group of community minded people wanting to change the food system. Reduce packaging and pay our farmers fairly. By reducing our carbon footprint by 90% this means we buy in bulk as a group and then share it. We need to be a bit flexible. You will know roughly what you will get but you can’t get exact. We have a Packing Guide but the numbers will change as produce is smaller or larger. Mostly you will get extras overall. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT I SPEND? EASY. You will pay the STARTING ORDER PLUS if you join in SPLITS or ADD Groceries. At the bottom of MY ORDER you will see the MAX you will pay if all your SPLITS get over the line, any groceries you’ve ordered and the Starting Order. You can reduce the SPLITS or Groceries you joined BEFORE CUTOFF. PACKAGING
Much of the produce comes loose so please provide your Hubster with a NAME LABELLED BAG: ALSO - calico/wash nets to put handfuls in (do not expect your Hubster to provide paper bags please): Bring in your old icecream containers, for example, for the Hub to put soft stuff in. If you get an item in plastic, recycle it in your soft plastic bin. We don't interrupt the packing from the farmer. Farmers are trying to work out how to transport produce and it can’t always be plastic free - for the moment. The Sugar Cane bags are not strong, don't last and definitely not airtight. Cardboard and paper fall apart. New technology is being worked on. NOT FOR ME
If after you’ve tried it and Box Divvy is not working the way you want, then you can cancel membership. So? Join our group to make a difference. You have the power to do so. Cut your food bill significantly – Wow! The goal: to cut your food bill, without compromising on the quality, freshness and variety of food. With minimal effort, minimal packaging and food miles, and still paying farmers and suppliers a fair price for their produce.

H2G Passata Rustica: $2 a jar until stocks last.

Honest to Goodness came to our new warehouse last month, and realised that 3500 sqm is a LOT of space. So, when they ended up with a few pallets of Passata with a Best Before Date of 31 August, who were they going to call??

“We’ll take ‘m”, we said. Over 1500 jars that we normally sell for $4.49 – but are now going out the door for $2 a pop.

We think they’ll be gone in a fortnight – well before they have a chance to expire. BTW: there’s every chance they’ll be good for another year…

🎊 New product 🎉
Not just for vegetarians: Nutrisoy Tofu and Tempeh

Tofu and Tempeh are tasty and sustainable sources of protein. But there’s a lot more to it: tofu and tempeh are
✔️Low in saturated fat and no cholesterol
✔️High protein content
✔️Good source of calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and selenium
✔️Rich in isoflavones - phytochemicals that protect against cancer and heart disease
✔️Heart healthy: 25g of soy protein per day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease
✔️Beneficial for bones

So the addition of Tofu and Tempeh to our Chilled Line-up is long overdue. The range includes 5 different Tofus – from firm to silken – as well as some flavoured tofu. All but one are made from Australian-grown soybeans – and they are all non-GMO. The Tempeh range includes 4 products, including a tasty Tempeh burger.

You will find them in Chilled ➡️Vegetarian and Vegan ➡️ Tofu/Tempeh.

And until the end of July, they are 10% off. Now, that’s tempting…

Mayver’s Nut Spreads: 100% nuts is back 🎉

We’ve ranged Mayver’s peanut butter and other nut spreads before, so what’s the story?

About a year ago, H2G was supplying us with Mayver’s organic peanut butter – but they always struggled with the Best Before Date (i.e. the stock was old by the time we got it), so we replaced it with Ridiculously Delicious Peanut Butter. True to its brand name: it’s truly delicious but also a little ridiculously expensive at over $7 a jar. Don’t worry, we’re keeping the brand for the true PB Believers – but since Cozzie Livs has started dominating everyone’s lives, we felt we needed a slightly more economical – but almost as tasty and honest-to-goodness-100%-nuts-only PB. But still 100% Aussie nuts.

And that’s Mayver’s for you: no ifs, no buts, no maybes – but Mayver’s.

And in addition to the Crunchy and Smooth peanut butter, we also offer:
✔️Mayvers Pure Goodness Everything Spread – 8 different nuts and seeds
✔️Mayvers Almond Butter
✔️Mayvers Tahini Hulled.

And until the end of this month, they’re all 10% off their already low price.

🎊 New product 🎉
Lolli’s Artisan Soup Mixes: a meal on its own

Produced by Colleen Walters on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, these mixes will take your soup to a while new level. Or at least, they’ll save you time (and money) having to get each ingredient on its own. (Each variant has between 20 and 40 different ingredients – and all of them (except for maltodextrin) are whole foods and spices.

The packs look colourful – almost too good to open – but trust us: they’re worth it. Each one will deliver 10-12 serves (easily 2-2.5L) of thick and richly flavoured soup.

Available flavours:
✔️Thai Curry
✔️Italian Garden
✔️Tex Mex Chilli
✔️Split Pea
✔️Mulligatawny

The Box Divvy price is $10 each ($13.95 elsewhere), which works out to less than $1 per serve. Please note: some flavours will need additional ingredients (e.g. bacon for the Split Pea Soup).

You’ll find them in Pantry ➡️ Meal Preparation ➡️ Soup, Stock & Gravy.

Breaking news: New egg supplier

We’ve found another egg supplier called Moonbi Valley eggs, based near Tamworth.

Their stocking density is 10.000 hens per HA - not ideal, but similar to Pace.

Hunter Valley Eggs will remain our lead supplier, but especially in winter they’re unable to fill all our orders on their own.

Supply from Moonbi Valley Eggs will start this week.

Kabul Star Bakery’s famous Afghan wood-fired flatbread
Flour, salt, yeast, water: 4 simple ingredients will transport you to a whole new world. Also known as snowshoe bread (on account of their shape) these flatbreads are baked in a wood-fired stone oven - hence the slight charring.

Baked by Asad and his family, they fled the Taliban in 2010 and set up shop in Auburn. His father and grand-father before him were bakers, and he is continuing the 40- year family tradition.

Some have described this bread as a hybrid between Turkish bread and Indian naan, but this description does not do it justice. It's soft, somewhat fluffy, definitely rustic, moreish, incredibly versatile, and despite the simple ingredients, they seem to stay fresh for 3-4 days. You can crisp them up in the oven, heat them in the microwave for a softer result, or even toast them.

You can cover them with cheese and toast them under a hot grill. Eat them with falafel or lamb kofta, some hummos and tabouleh; turn them into a hamburger with Handler’s meat patties. Or eat them with your favourite curry (as in: Belicious Afghan Lamb curry). The Afghans themselves use them to mop up any leftover sauce and rice from their plate, like a pre-rinse.

Above all, they are so delicious, you can't stop eating them. Ingredients:
wheat flour, wholemeal flour, salt, yeast, water. You’ll find them under Bakery > Bread > Wraps & Flatbread. Two loaves per pack for a combined weight of around 760g. Baked and delivered fresh daily.

An apple a day keeps bowel cancer away

Bowel cancer is on the rise, especially among younger people. Each year, 15000 Australians are diagnosed with bowel cancer – 11% are under 50. Diet and lifestyle play a big role: quit smoking, reduce processed meat and alcohol consumption, and eat more wholegrains and other high fibre foods like…apples.

Whilst we missed the annual Red Apple Day organised by Bowel Cancer Australia (which was held on 19th June), we have decided to make it Any Apple Day Any Old Day. And with Box Divvy apple prices between $2.73 and $3.50 a kilo, you can too.

New at Box Divvy: Grant’s toothpaste and mouthwash

Have you ever found yourself standing in front of the oral care section in the supermarket, and felt somewhat overwhelmed? A bewildering assortment of brands and product claims – sensitive teeth, gum health, whitening, fresh breath, or all of the above. At least 95% of products are owned by multinationals, and manufactured overseas: US-based Colgate controls about two-thirds of the market, and the remainder is divvied between Oral-B (US-based P&G), Sensodyne and Macleans (both British-owned), Red Seal (NZ) and a sprinkling of tooth whiteners like White Glo, Hismile and Smile Hero that mostly import.

Just one Australian-owned and made brand is left standing: Grant’s of Australia.

We like Grant’s not only for that reason – it’s also as natural a toothpaste as you can get:
No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) which is an industrial cleaner that helps the foaming process, found in most toothpaste (and shampoo and other personal cleaning products for that matter). Some research links over-exposure to mouth ulcers and allergies.
No Sodium Hydroxide (or caustic soda aka drain cleaners) found in many toothpaste brands. Do we need to say more??
No Chlorine dioxide – an industrial bleach. Duh.
No polypropylene glycol – a spreading and wetting agent.
No saccharine – an artificial sweetener that has been on the on-and-off list of FDA for causing cancer. Xylitol is a better option.
No fluoride. This is a common ingredient in toothpaste to help prevent tooth decay, and does not appear to have side effects – unless swallowed. That is why there are warnings on toothpaste packs (1) not to swallow, and (2) not to use fluoride toothpaste for kids under 6.

Okay, there are rabbit holes and conspiracy theories everywhere – in all likelihood, most of these chemicals in low doses and correct use probably have no harmful effects. However, the question is: do we really need them? Some are used to support marketing claims, or make toothpaste taste sweeter or produce more foam. Fluoride can be beneficial, but mainly if you have a diet high in sugars and simple carbohydrates. We suspect (or hope) that would not apply to most Box Divvy members, so the benefit of fluoride is muted if you have a healthy diet.

Besides, the long-term exposure to some of these chemicals – especially if they appear in several different products – is not well understood, so we are simply saying: play it safe, and avoid where possible.

They are competitively priced, and can be found under Cleaning ➡️ Personal ➡️Oral Care.

2 Pops Macadamia Honey available until stocks last

Russell from 2 Pops Honey managed to get hold of 300kgs of Macadamia Honey from northern NSW. It’s a short season: macadamia trees flower in August and September, and bees almost exclusively feed on macadamia flower nectar. Most of their honey is harvested in October. Russell is not too sure if he can get more so if you want to try the characteristically nutty flavour or macadamia honey, now is the time.

Box Divvy’s version of The Soup Pack

The eastern seaboard continues to suffer from a cold snap, so: bring out the soup. And to help you get started, we’re putting together a Soup Pack.

There are plenty of Soup Packs around, but none of them are particularly generous. Take the Coles version: 1 potato, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 1 parsnip, 1 turnip and 1 celery stick – barely 1 kilo of hard vegetables to make stock, priced at $4.90.

The Box Divvy version weighs at least 1.5kg, and costs $4.76. Weight for weight, that’s 35% cheaper than the Coles version.

You’ll find them in Vegetables ➡️ Other

What a pear wrenching story!

Box Divvy has been in the news speaking about the pear industry as a result of Woolworths announcing they will purchase pears for canning from South Africa and China, skipping Shepparton - our home farmers. SPC announced in 2025 they will be cutting back purchases by 40%. Will we have another ‘bury the orange trees incident’? (oranges are now in short supply). Box Divvy urges consumers to buy more pears and support our farmers. Here is the Pear-Shaped release in Shepparton News.
