Rubes was tinkering and it was too hot so I may have just helped her a little ( Yes ok I got in , up to my shorts and helped her have a proper paddle - after the cool off we had three happy / content doggies .

We’ve officially trained enough to run a marathon , however…. We’ve skipped what’s known as tapering ( resting the body over a few days ) and Mags will instead spend her “ rest period “ flying . Mags and I will run again tomorrow at 5 then I’ll hand her over to who transport her to the airport, from there she’s loaded to fly - Sydney to Hawaii, the beautiful part is her will be there at the other end to to take her home . ( No quarantine needed )

Maggie gets her treat , just one you know my style - we also can’t afford for anything to upset her tummy …. tomorrow is Vegemite’s big departure 😞.

Watch , she’s knows everything I’m saying and listens impeccably.

Yes - I’m sad , I may not see Maggie and her family for a while … but I’m so happy for them and I know in my heart it’s not goodbye forever.

Our second last morning on the fly together 😔 - how did we go ? Well another slightly rough start , lots of lagging so we kept the pace moderate and stuck with 5:30’s - most of which was onlead because of human traffic ( 6:30 start ) . Once we hit King George’s oval Mags came offlead and we held 7 sets of 400’s around the oval - all of which she was right beside me .

The dude takes over …. FYI , this is one of Maggie’s favourite toys - I’ll only offer 10 minutes max! Maggie is the dog who’ll keep going until she falls over . Charlie’s been desperate to use the #dognerfgun so today I caved and let them have a go . FYI - Inks and Franks were laying in the shade .

#dogsandroutines - this is so important! A dog / your dog thrives when they have a proper routine - it basically the best way a dog can distinguish the time of day , they cannot tell the time . Sticking to a routine everyday helps create balance and structure. Maggie told me it was time for her greenie , she knew dinner was finished and her greenie comes next . Mags also knows the greenie at the moment is in the crate , if she weren’t travelling it’d be in her #dogbed . #creatingpositiveassociations

If the dogs are keen to run - I’m in ! A run through with Mags and Frankie .

This for me is #interactiveplay without a tool ( ball / stick etc )

A little pep talk trying to convince the girls to jump back in ….. I’ll keep trying 😊 ( Maggie and Ruby) FYI - before this video the girls had already been in .. FFYI - If Maggie has a toy and she’s on her own she’ll swim , you know me though - no balls / no sticks in groups.

Today was my brother’s anniversary- he died 12 months ago …I scattered his ashes ( with my Dad ) at Watsons bay - we spent many summers as children running through the water and playing in the sand , hence the location. The dogs when they’re staying are always part of our family so it’s only fitting they come and share these moments with us .
