Kitten madness 🐾

Applications are open and are being taken for all three of our last kittens in care.
Our last kittens available for adoption that we currently have in care are gorgeous 15 week old brothers Eli and boots and their sister Storm.

All are shy kittens but very playful.
Boots is the man of mystery, he is very independent but happy to receive love when it’s given! He is so curious and playful.
Eli - the love bug, he loves to cuddle, he loves to be held like a baby and loves to check out what you are doing.
And Storm, she will steal your heart instantly with those eyes and those colours. She is the more confident kitten, loves a good head bop, but loves to explore and do her own thing.
All are healthy, playful and social kittens.
All came to us with mild cat flu and the boys did experience flare ups at the time of their surgery. However have had no further issues the more socialised they’ve become in the ward here in clinic.

Boots is definitely the least confident of the group and we would love to see him join a home with his sister or brother as a pair if we are lucky, or find him someone with experience at welcoming a shy rescue kitten.

The Gals are ready to steal some hearts 💖

Meet Lillian and Leia our two mature ladies.

Lillian is a little younger than Leia, Lillian is roughly 10 months to perhaps a year old. Leia is our true adult but still very young at heart at the tender age of two.
Leia has been with us for roughly 6 months now. Leia spends her time between clinic and with her foster hero Bronte and never fails to put a smile on her nurses faces.
Leia is quiet, calm, but also can be cheeky and playful, she loves to sun bake but also loves to chase her toys down the hallways, she appreciates her space but also her time with her people, she is affectionate and loves head bops and a good bum scratch but she is also plenty independent.

Lillian our young lady, only a sweet kitten still herself, was a mother at a very young age, she came to us sick with flu and with 4 babies in tow.
Lillian was a loving and gentle mum, she did such a great job raising her babies but she’s definitely come out of her shell now she has her freedom back. Lilly is delightful, sweet, super smoochy and loves being with you! She’s also still on the younger side but has that curious playful energy about her. She is so deserving of a home that will take her in and allow her to be the young, independent cat she deserves to be.

There are advantages to adopting an older cat, both are litter trained, have grown into their unique adorable personalities but have settled well into house life, they have house manners and are out of the chaotic kitten stage.
Both are old enough to be really ready for a new start of life and to put their rocky starts behind them, but plenty young enough to offer their new families years of love, loyalty, friendship, memories and devotion.

Both our gals are desexed, microchipped, up to date on flea tick and worming and will come home with an adoption pack to help them settle in.

Meet Eli

Eli is our other gorgeous 15 week old black and brother of our current litter, Eli came to us with mild cat flu which he was treated for and has recovered.

Eli is definitely the smoocher of the group, he loves to cuddle, loves to be held in your arms, he makes air biscuits in the air and he is a purrr machine on que!
Eli is the one of the more social of his litter but is still considered quiet and calm.

We recommend a pair adoption or having another friendly playful young cat in the home for company.

We would also like to recommend as little stress possible with this adoption as unfortunately some cats can carry the flu virus for life and can experience flare ups in stress.

THANK YOU again to the amazing Animal Rescue Cooperative for the donation of cat food to help us kick start what is predicted to be a busy kitten season ahead.

We were provided with quality wet and dry food, tunnels, scratching posts and enrichments toys! This pick up was especially fun with themed Halloween toys, to help get the cats in the front condo get ready for the spooky season 🎃

Help like this has been a truly massive help to us and we are so thankful and supportive of organisations like the ARC that help rescues great and small.
The Leichhardt location and team are god sends.
Our Leichhardt location is currently asking for donations in order to keep open and keeping helping rescues. We are very excited to announce that gorgeous Sirius was adopted over the weekend and has gone to a very loving home who were need of a little kitten to fill their home with love and joy! Sirius who is now known affectionately as Donny, is going to be very very loved ❤️

We are thrilled to announce that after 9 months in care, raising him from a tiny little 2 day old bean with his brother, we got to say goodbye to Luda (now Loki) and watch him leave to go to the perfect home.

New dad Nate and loving mum Ebony watched him grow, would always say hello and visit him when he was in and always felt like he needed to come back for our dear Luda. And he did.

We wish you both the very best and many many happy years together!

She is happy to be held and have a cuddle.

Storm is yet to be tested with other cats or animals however is young and sociable and we believe could adapt with a slow introduction and friendly companion.
Given the litter is shy we don’t think an overwhelming environment is well suited.

Gorgeous Luda is back for a visit at Mountains Animal Hospital for a weekend holiday.

He has been thriving in foster care with foster hero Britt.
He loves cat trees, sleeping right next to you at all times, loves to cuddle, is an absolute purrr machine and of course is still his playful, curious self.

He has grown into such a magnificent gentleman, such a sweet and gentle young man.
Luda has done incredible and proved himself to be a perfect cat for young life, being patient, tolerant and understanding, enjoying and interested in their company.

Britt says the only real down sides to him is that you can’t go to the bathroom alone, can’t bath or shower alone and that he is in a complicated situationship with the kitchen bin and that you have to keep them separated.

Britt also has a family dog, who luda is not too fond of, if luda is adopted to another home with other pets we recommend quiet, cat friendly and socialised furr friends and a slow introduction.

Other than that, he really has stolen their hearts, Britt and the team would love nothing more to see him adopted before his 1st birthday.
We can’t believe he is waiting this long.

Drop into our Mountains clinic this weekend to meet Luda back in the condo until he goes back to his foster home Monday.

This cheeky boy had a great application approved but unfortunately the family had to cancel 😞

We have opened applications for Sirius again.

Since Sirius is the last of his litter he was placed into foster care to play, explore, socialise and build his confidence for adoption.
Sirius has been loving life, with plenty of room to release his kitten energy, Sirius has become a master climber and lover of cat trees.

He adapts quickly to new environments, is cat and dog friendly with accepting and tolerant fur friends and has proven to be a great kitten for kids, being calm and gentle and opting to cuddle.

Sirius also loves to smooch up with on your chest or neck and snuggle in tight, his purr is addictive and very healing after a long day.
He has been such a gentlemen at home, you really couldn’t fault him.

introducing our little family 🐾

Meet mumma Lillian and her babies, Storm, Boots, Oreo and Eli!

This little fam were living a not so happy or safe life in a factory. They came to our emergency clinic with cat flu symptoms.
We admitted them and moved them into our CAP quarantine ward to start treatment.
After a good clean up, a dose of doxycycline, some quality food and fluids, we already saw a encouraging improvement in their condition.
Second day in isolation today and they are bright, looking much better in eyes, clear chest and very little sneezing, everyone is eating and drinking like champs and toileting fine.
Please keep your hopes high that this little fam’s quarantine is nothing but smooth sailing from here❤️

Once cleared from quarantine, they will be desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and will be kept up to date with parasite preventative while in care.

This beautiful cheeky boy is the last kitten of his litter waiting for a home and our last available kitten.

Sirius is a delightful, high energy, entertaining little ball of fun.
He has a gorgeous velvety black coat, bright eyes and a forever inquisitive face.
Sirius loves to run, explore and play. He was quite rough and would really wrestle with his siblings, sometimes a little too rough, we recommend a home with other confident or playful furry friends that are also high energy. This adorable little man found himself alone and lost in a steel factory.
This little dude is 12 weeks old, a gorgeous dilute Champaign ginger and white and a has a whole lot of cuteness and personality to share!

Little Braveheart, is playful, super cuddly and loves just being apart of whatever is going on. He loves to cuddle up on your lap and watch TV, cuddle up with the resident cats and is quite a confident little guy.

He is currently in foster care where he has been really enjoying the company of his foster fur siblings. He is litter trained and very good in the home. His foster family and nurse Kaitlin are smitten with him and finding it very hard to give him back, we predict this little one will be hard to pass by.

🐾 UPDATE ON SMOKEY 🐾

Smokey our beloved IBD kitten who was an absolute solider through two rounds of ringworm, has been absolutely loving freedom and back in a loving, warm Foster home.
The thing we love about Smokey so that he never ever loses his spirit! Ringworm being zoonotic and incredibly infectious, can see kittens do extended or extensive periods of isolation while in an intensive treatment. Which can be tough on a young cat, but Smokey boy never lost his s***k, he is a happy, playful, affectionate and sweet ball of joy! Who just happens to be incredibly handsome!

We are so happy to see Smokey thriving back in a home environment! We are hoping Smokey finds the right home for him soon and can be finally settled once and for all.

Leia is looking for a foster home 🐾

Do you love cats? Do you have a room in the house or a safe place that a cat waiting for their for Forever home can call their own?
We are looking for a foster home for Leia.
Leia is a female 2 year old, Domestic short hair with a stunning white and grey coat and bright golden eyes.
She came to us as a owner surrender after suffering injuries from being hit by a car. She presented with neurological complications but made a full recovery in care.
Leia has spent time in care in our Mountain Animals Hospital and in our adoption condo.
Leia has caught the attention of a few of our regular clients and families however no one has been able to commit to Leia.

We would love for Leia to experience a warm loving foster home, that can work with her as she is a little shy and may seem stand offish when you first meet her but Leia is a sweetheart, she adores head pats, chin scratches and has the sweetest conversations with you, she almost chirps away as you talk about your day with her.
She is perfectly litter trained, has bouts of playfulness and loves a soft cushion or bed to nap on.
We would love to learn more about Leia and what she is like in a home environment.

We provide all food, litter, a toy, enrichment and a foster care pack which includes a guide, contacts, schedules, flea tick and worming, a bed and litter tray.
We also have a emergency hospital located in Regentville that is open 24 hours in case of emergencies.
We just ask that you are able to transport to and perhaps from meet and greets or vet appointments, take lots and lots of pictures and videos for social media, contact us and see one of our vets immediately if anything becomes of concern and provide a second home while they wait for their forever one. We also ask that you be 18 years of age, have permission to keep cats at your property and that all our cats and kittens are kept safely indoors at all times.

🐾 INTRODUCING BRAVEHEART 🐾

This sweet tiny little dude is Braveheart!
We were contacted by a worker and told that there was a very small kitten alone and running around a steel factory in St Marys, he was caught by staff and got to spend the day chilling in the office with some food and water till our coordinator got to the factory to pick him up.

He was instantly friendly and very sweet, he showed no fear of people and was happy to be coming along, although he didn’t love his first car ride all that much 😞
Back at the hospital Braveheart had a thorough health check, he weighed 820g telling us he around 8 weeks, he has clear eyes, nose and lungs, is eating and drinking like a champ, toileting regularly and despite being filthy and needing several baths, his coat was in good condition.

Braveheart has gone into a foster home to quarantine by himself in an enclosure that still allows him to see and be involved in daily life, being a new kitten with unknown history he will need to quartering and be barrier nursed to ensure he ain’t carrying any unknown zoonotic or infectious diseases. After two weeks he will be apart of the family home and taking in all the new experiences he can, being a young kitten and without litter mates or a mother to teach him the essentials, we try our best to ensure Braveheart will receive as much socialisation, exposure, love and attention he needs to prepare him for his forever home.

Once our young man here is 1kg he can and will be safely be desexed, microchipped and will receive three core kitten vaccinations.
He will then be ready for adoption, once he is desexed, chipped and received the first vaccination.
