Before 9pm Friday as a courtesy for your Hubster if you do not wish an order login, go to MY ORDERS, dropdown Suspend Deliveries and tick the date not wanting an order. I love this description about low on waste Box Divvy is. I have about the same amount of waste after my pack in Longueville. Most members have reusable produce bags for smaller items. Feels good, tastes good, good on the wallet and environment. What else could anyone want 🤷‍♀️

It’s plastic-free July! 🌊🌱🌏

I’m late to the party, again. Where has half of the month already gone? 😱

But if you haven’t heard, there is such a thing as “Plastic-Free July”. Although cutting your plastics back for one month won’t change the current state of the planet, it’s absolutely a good time to assess your habits and become a bit more aware of the plastic you consume. 💚🌏

One of my all-time favourites of running a hub is the low-waste side of things. Our household works very hard to be plastic-free, so becoming a Hubster was exciting for this reason. 👏🏼Box Divvy reuses many boxes and materials to avoid single-use only and packs in the least plastic possible and this is absolutely fantastic. 🎉Although there are still some single-use plastics, this photo shows how much is wasted for a 2372$ order from the 39 members ordering last week! Try to go to Woolworths and produce only this amount of waste! 👍🏼🥹

Box Divvy is a great way to reduce your waste, knowing that the sustainability ethics are at heart. 💚Choosing Box Divvy is an easy swap for plastic-free July (and that’s only one of the fantastic perks). Find a hub near you or join our waitlist by sending us a message today!

Box Divvy’s version of The Soup Pack

The eastern seaboard continues to suffer from a cold snap, so: bring out the soup. And to help you get started, we’re putting together a Soup Pack.

There are plenty of Soup Packs around, but none of them are particularly generous. Take the Coles version: 1 potato, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 1 parsnip, 1 turnip and 1 celery stick – barely 1 kilo of hard vegetables to make stock, priced at $4.90.

The Box Divvy version weighs at least 1.5kg, and costs $4.76. Weight for weight, that’s 35% cheaper than the Coles version.

You’ll find them in Vegetables ➡️ Other

This week the Longueville hub changed from Victoria’s ‘oh so very capable hands’ to me ‘on my training wheels’. The hub thanked Tor for her generosity of time and inspiration over the past few years with a beautiful painting by Lucy Hennessy and ceramics by . One of our members, Carmel baked a yummy strawberry cake and we’re looking forward to her sharing the recipe. Flowers are from The Spotted Orchid in Lane Cove. We will miss you Tor and appreciate all you have contributed to our community 🍎❤️🍅🍎❤️🍅

A late flush of local garlic
Usually we draw the line at Easter: most local garlic is picked in September, spends 6 weeks curing – so from mid-October it’s Game On! But then by Easter, 6 months later, they start to get soft and we move to Mexican or Argentinian. But then, we get this late flush of local garlic from Tenterfield in the Northern Rivers region. We don’t know how long it’ll last, so dig in before it’s gone.

Clementine vs Imperials: they are both apeeling
Both are a variety of mandarins, but Clementines are seedless, a little sweeter, larger and cheaper. What they have in common is ease-of-peel. In fact, Clementines are sometimes called zipper oranges or kid glove oranges because of how easy it is to peel them.
