We have all 3 ladies sitting on eggs! Could be a lot of new little quails running around very soon! Which colours will they be!?

We have a waitlist for anyone wanting to purchase a gorgeous little quail. These guys make the best pets and are so relaxing to watch!

This was taken when she was a baby. I found her dead in the aviary yesterday morning - our second bird killed for no reason in less than a month, by a Butcher Bird that is coming by every evening on dusk 😡

She was a gorgeous bird and my favourite out of all the Zebra Finches. Pure white in colour but not Albino, she was special!

She has already started her family and has raised several young. I am hoping the new baby we found in a nearby nest today wasn’t hers as well.

I will miss you but I’m sure you’re flying again with Caramilk.

We are pleased announce the pitter patter of a new clutch of baby quails and a new finch! The finch has been warmly welcomed to the ground-floor fold for now and it’s provided much needed warmth while it learns to fly!! The finch spent most of yesterday buried under Cheep and Chirps feathers in their nest - at some stages I was hoping it could still breathe! It was very kind and inclusive of Mumma and Dadda to accommodate a rather large adopted child .. along with the large brood of their own!

* QUAIL SWAP! *
We have a gorgeous clutch of 6 King Quails and we need to swap out a male to prevent inbreeding with our gals when we move them to the new aviary.

We are actually wondering if anyone local in the Camden LGA, has a young male they would like to swap out with us?

We do this for a hobby and treat all our animals very well, as evident by the fact mumma is now sitting on another clutch of 9 more eggs due in a week!

If anyone would like some as pets please reach out. We will gladly barter and are always open to trades of supplies.

I made Nick go out at midnight to put up temporary additional roofing because Cheep’s nest with 10 eggs 🥰 is literally in the *worst* location of the entire aviary against the monsoon rains we are having! 😇

And now… our second aviary is starting to fill up with amazingly beautiful looking and sounding birds!
