Re: Fiber Protect, Fiber Mix and Fiber Ezy products.
To whom it may concern,
Please find attached official communication from Fiber Fresh Ltd, regarding directions received from the Department of Biosecurity Australia. Further updates will be communicated as they are received, we appreciate your co-operation in this matter.
17 October 2023
Dear Customer
Biosecurity requirements - equine Lucerne products ex Fiber Fresh New Zealand
On 9 October 2023, following biosecurity directions, the national Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (‘the Department’) issued a direction that all Fiber Fresh product be secured within the supply chain down to retail level as soon as possible, due to isolated instances of animal contaminants in three batches of FiberProtect manufactured by Fiber Fresh in New Zealand and distributed by Hygain in Australia on our behalf.
We thank you for your previous cooperation in ceasing movement of product in affected batches. This communication now seeks the cooperation of wholesale and retail customers in completing the additional biosecurity requirements of the Department referred to above.
Additional Requirements
The direction to secure product applies to all Fiber Fresh products in market including Fiber Protect, Fiber Ezy and Fiber Mix.
The Department has now required that any Fiber Fresh product you hold be removed from sale or other movement and secured. Please secure in situ (in place) with appropriate labelling such as “Biosecurity Directions Pending Not for Sale or Further Movement”.
When you are able to secure the product, please retain full records of quantities, location and date of receipt
if applicable so that we can collate these once further instructions are received.
Where you have downstream customers or users, please also pass this request on for the same urgent action by them to secure the product.
We will provide you with a further update when we receive direction from the Department. We fully appreciate that you will need to understand arrangements for further movement for disposal of the product, and in relation to costs remediation. In that regard, we ask that you keep full and detailed records in relation to these maters.
Should you have any questions, please contact [email protected] and its distributor Hygain.
We greatly appreciate your assistance and cooperation in this mater.
Other maters
This biosecurity direction applies to the Australian market only.
To receive product updates directly from Fiber Fresh, we encourage you, and your customers, to register your interest to receive regular updates at www.fiber-fresh.com.au/productrecall. You can also ask us questions as the manufacturer through the form on this web page.
