After cleaning and feeding this morning before work, it was amazing to come home to such a large litter. 16 Baby bluetongue lizards have just been birthed. Mum is a DH Snow (now proven) and dad is a TH (Albino/Hypo/anery). Feeling blessed.

🐍 Room to Stretch Out 🐍

This monster modular enclosure measures 2400x590x600. Built for to very spoilt snakes and includes removable partitions while they grow.

🔥 Routed heat cord, and 2x light fittings with heat cages on the hot side and a light fitting and heat cage on the cool side keep the enclosure toasty warm and the thermostats automate the heating and lighting process.

🪨 The 3D basking backgrounds add to the aesthetic of the enclosure and add enrichment for the snakes.

🚚 Delivery for this enclosure was challenging due to its size and 4 flights of stairs. This is why it was built in seperate pieces to make delivery possible.

Arcadia D3 UV Basking Lamp 2nd Generation
Mercury Vapour Heat Lamp

High performance lamp providing UV-B, UV-A, visible light and heat from a single source.

Designed as a basking lamp for larger enclosure in which the reptile has sufficient room to move into and out of the basking area to regulate its temperature.

The D3 basking lamp is an ideal all-in-one lamp for providing heat, light and UV, every technology however has limitations.

We would suggest that in ecnclosures 90cm and over in length, a high output T5 lamp is used alongside these UV-rich basking spots. This then allows the animal to decide when and where to bask at a particular time.

Many species of reptile and Amphibian require a warm spot under which they can bask and become fully energised with heat and Ultra Violet. As in nature, these basking zones should be UV rich and stable.

The 80 Watt ‘Mini Mercury Vapour’ is a useful option for smaller enclosures. UVB and a balanced UVA similar to wild exposure at lower fitting heights and also produce a good amount of heat.

Important for the health and development of reptiles;

The shorter 450mm tall cabinets is perfect for taller enclosures, 2 Bay and 3 bay enclosures.

The mid range 600mm tall cabinet is ideal for 2 bay enclosures and 3-4’ tall enclosures.

The bigger 900mm tall enclosure is perfect for a single enclosure to achieve an overall height at eye level.
