Our last puppy preschool class for 2024!

We've had a blast with some super cute pups and amazing paw parents. We've loved welcoming each and every new fur baby to our classes, to teach training techniques to help bond families and set them up with the right tools.

Puppy Preschool Class are held Saturday’s at 5:45pm. Eligible puppies are aged between 8-15 weeks old with only their first vaccination needed.

This structured 4-week course, led by a qualified Puppy Trainer, addresses critical topics: Socialisation, Enrichment and Body Language, Place Training, Leave It, Lead Walking, Tricks, and Tunnel Fun, concluding with Graduation.

Lovely Lyla was disappointed to miss her pup Levi’s graduation last night. Although her parents attended in her place, she wanted to celebrate this special milestone with Levi.

This morning, I received this beautiful photo of them together. Lyla has been a dedicated participant in most of Levi’s training classes, committed to her pups training and continued success. 🐾 🐶

October Puppy Preschool is now complete. With six puppies and only four families, managing the group was twice the task. This evening's training covered lead manners, step-up, go round, and tunnel agility fun. 🐾 🐶 🐾 🐶 🐾 🐶 🐾 🐶

Last night's lesson was all about Place Training - think of it as teaching your dog to have its own 'chill zone' where it can hang out, relax, and just be calm.

Qualifications to be a donor:

• Between 1-8 years old
• Over 4kg and in good health
• Up-to-date on vaccinations
• Calm and comfortable around other animals and people

An enrichment feast was served, and these little pups had a blast trying out so many different options to enjoying their dinner…from lick mats to slow feeders, to egg cartons and muffin trays.

There was only 1 little shy pup amongst the lot…a little overwhelmed by all the action but he watched from a distance and had a little sneaky taste of a few goodies! 🐾

It's always heartwarming to see puppies and their owners learning together. Graduating from puppy preschool is a proud moment for both the pups and their paw-parents! Learning new techniques helps build a strong bond and good behaviours early on.

Tonight’s round of puppy graduates learnt lead walking techniques, step up and middle, along with a focus exercise to help with impulse control.

Tonight’s pups learnt place training, leave it and touch. 🐾 🐶 🐾 🐶

‘Place training’ teaches them they have a spot to relax which helps prevent over-arousal with guests coming and going, before heading out for a walk, or general busy movement in the home or out & about. Improving impulse control, like keeping them out of the kitchen while preparing dinner or out from under your feet.

'Leave It' command is essential in your training tool box…as you never know when your dog might find something that is potentially toxic or dangerous for them to e

I love training and educating paw-parents on their new puppies and adolescent dogs to improve behaviors, bonds, and teach them skills.

I also enjoy working with my own dogs and learning new things to excite and engage them.

Hiccup and Marmite at a recent scent search session. Pups are super smarter and exercise alone is not the only tool to tire them out. Their natural instinct in to sniff sniff sniff and this as a great way to work them out of their comfort zone.
