Please be aware that once you have your pet microchipped, there is no ongoing fees to keep microchip details up to date.
A client this week received an email saying they need to pay a fee to keep the details registered online.
This is definitely not true and a scam.
Please share far and wide so people are aware.

Puppy Preschool is a wonderful way to learn and teach your pup training and start socialising.

Little Angels Dog Training will be holding Puppy Academy and Teenage FUNdamentals classes at Penrith Veterinary Hospital in January 2025.

The hospital is air conditioned to keep you and your pup cool while we’re learning.

Penrith classes are limited to 6 puppies per class. I’ve already had a puppy book in so reserve your place quickly

Please keep your pets and wildlife safe and cool.

And its probably best for only early morning walks.
Its 37 degrees now. And via Weatherzone, at 5pm will be 40 degrees and hopefully start dropping after 7pm.

Please stay safe for you and your pets, and as cool as possible through this hot weather we are experiencing.
Please be aware of how heat stress affects dogs in this heatwave we are experiencing.
Walking and jogging with dogs in this weather is exceptionally hard on your pet. Your pets can cope without a walk for a few days.
The hot ground or pavements/ roads, even sand is often too hot for your pets paws.
It's recommended to avoid exercising pets on hot days.
Signs of heat stress:
Excessive Panting
Disoriented & Lethargy
Drooling/ Salivation
Breathing Distress
Vomiting / Diarrhoea
Please ensure your pets have plenty of water bowls that can't be knocked over. Freeze some plastic containers of ice and add them to your pets drinking bowl during the day.
Shade is so important on these hot days.
If possible have your pets inside. We understand that isn't always possible if your at work etc.
If you think your pet has heat stroke please cool them down under the hose or a wet towel to drape over them. And moniter them as they may need to be taken to a vet for treatment.

It's not cool to leave pets in cars.

With the warmer weather upon us its important to be extremely careful when traveling with your pets.

Here are some important facts regarding dogs in hot cars:

* The temperature inside a car can double in a matter of minutes.
* A dog left in a car can die within as little as 6 minutes as they are not able to sweat to cool themselves.
* A dog panting inside a car will raise the temperature even more quickly.
* Leaving the window down or parking in the shade does little to stop the temperature rising in the car.
* All animals are affected by heat stress.

Please be careful with leaving your pet unattended in car.
