As you can see he was quite heavily matted. Before we assume he is neglected, I am here to tell you this is one extremely loved dog.
Gab has had some bad experiences with grooming, and I was well aware of his triggers from the beginning.
Despite him having bitten me once, I've still never had to use any methods of restraint, because he is learning he is safe.
Gabby would not do well in a commercial salon environment because of all the distractions and faster methods.
Here with me, he gets spoken to kindly, reassured constantly, and we take long as we have to, to get the job done as safely and comfortable as possible.
You are worth it Gabby! 💚🙏

My sessions with this big girl are always quite long.
Bathing takes a good hour, drying takes longer, brushing, dematting, deshedding, toilet breaks, smooch breaks 🫢🥰
I could easily and happily double the time spent with her because she's so amazing, and so grateful of her treatments.
🐾 Chow-Chow are considered a 'high risk' dog breed.
Nickname; Wardogs.
Originally bred to guard, protect and kill. They are strong, robust, and built differently to most other canines. They grow a thick double coated mane for protection 🦁
Ellie is the first Chow I've ever met who hasn't at the very least growled at me.
Her nature and temperament is not common in the breed, but her family assured me she thinks she is a Groodle 🤣 and they're absolutely right.
Maybe she is just that exception, or maybe she has such dedicated and loving owners she was just raised differently.... either way she is pure perfection, and I'm SO lucky!.

This senior Rottweiler mix visited me for his first time today 🐾🖤
Shadow likes to show his teeth for certain things.
Once he did this a few times with no reaction, it was pretty obvious he's just a big baby man.
I have worked on and owned giant breeds since 2012, and I'm insane according to most who know me. I don't have much fear when it comes to dogs.
What you guys DONT always see is the time I take to introduce myself to dogs.
Shadow got ten minutes to inspect my yard, then he brought himself to me.
His owners told me straight away about his pearly teeth, so there were no cheeky surprises.
Every single dog deserves to be given a chance. What is scary and not approachable to one, may be a bonding challenge to others (me 🙋♂️).
