nate team of animal lovers. We offer exceptional and compassionate service, well considered advice and a gold standard of care that is tailored to their (and your) needs. We as a team are committed to high quality Healthcare, Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. This means that it is very important for all our team members to participate in ongoing education and external courses to constantly update their skills. Our vets will often participate in continuing education seminars, conferences and courses to ensure we are delivering the most up to date standard of care. Our Nurses are also committed to their education by attending seminars and participating in training courses. All of our nurses are either Cert IV qualified or working towards their qualification, those that are qualified are also AVNAT Registered. We have a dedicated reception team who focuses on Customer Service and Satisfaction. They make sure that we maintain regular and close communication with our clients when their pets have recently undergone treatment so that the vets can better monitor their progress.

Did you know that puppies need their last puppy vaccination at 16 weeks of age or older? 🗓️ This final booster is crucial for their protection, ensuring they develop long-lasting immunity against serious diseases like parvovirus, distemper, and hepatitis. 🦠🚫

Without it being given after 16 weeks of age, puppies may still be vulnerable as their immunity wears off before their first adult vaccination, so completing their full vaccination schedule is the best way to keep them happy, healthy, and ready for adventures! 🏡💛

Meet Aslin, one brave kitty! 🐱💪 He recently had his eye removed (it was partially ruptured) and was looked after by Dr. Sam—our newest team member at Great Western Animal Hospital! 🌟 Nurse Tania gave him plenty of cuddles before surgery, and Nurse Jodie was there for extra TLC when he woke up. We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Sam to our Great Western Animal Hospital family! 🎉🐾 You can catch him Wednesdays, Fridays, and some weekends, ready to help your furry family members.

Dr. Sam graduated from the University of Sydney in 2019 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. His special interests include small animal medicine, dermatology, and surgery—making him an all-around superstar! ⭐️ Outside of work, you’ll find him skiing, playing tennis, or spending time with his two horses (Hugo and Lamb) and his Ragdoll cat, Fenty.

🌼 Daisy 🌼 Meet Daisy, the brave girl who recently battled tick paralysis! After her initial care at SASH, she spent a few days with us learning to walk again—her progress was incredible to watch! She’s so lucky to have recovered, and we’re glad she’s back on her paws. Daisy was such a sweetheart throughout her stay, and her devoted dad visited every single day to cheer her on. Mister Mack is a 1 year old Australian Bulldog who had caudectomy surgery (tail amputation). He had a corkscrew tail which is quite common with his breed and causing him discomfort. He was unable to elevate his tail himself and it gets messy when he toilets. Mack has recovered well since his procedure and his incision has healed perfectly! 🐶❤️ #surgery #vetclinic #cute
