β€πΎπFeel Good Story - the Adoption story of a Shy cat (it's a long one!):
Ferrari came on board in August 2023 at 3 months of age, extremely shy, skittish and scared of everything except for one thing, other cats! Ferrari blossomed watching the resident cats, gaining confidence from them and started trusting his foster carers. He was hiding the fact that he was a Casanova and very smoochy boy.
A few months ago, we received this very lovely enquiry from a teenage girl who had been looking at his profile for a while and really liked him. She did not blink at the fact that there would be no point in a meet and greet, she accepted he would take the time he needed to settle in a new environment and that he would likely always remain a timid cat at best. She managed to convince her parents that he was the cat for them and well β¦. He truly has proven to be!
It hasnβt been easy and it has taken a long trial of a good few months, as his new friend Skye wasnβt all that pleased with his presence while Ferrari just really wanted to be her friend and share her space! Ferrari (now Arlo) knew very early on how special his young adopter was as he trusted her very quickly and showed her his very sweet and cuddly side. Whilst she is definitely his special person, he also loves cuddles with the rest of the family.
This teenage girl will have a special place in our hearts forever - not only did she want a rescue animal, but she went to bat for a cat who will always remain quite timid and nervous in many circumstances. She put in the hard yards to bond with him, at his pace and didnβt give in when her cat Skye was disgruntled and unhappy.
Sadly, shy cats are very hard to re-home. They take us, foster carers, a long time to get them ready (in some cases, years) for adoption and even then, they will often remain quite timid. They will never provide an instant connection and in meet and greets there is often no meet, nor greet. We so appreciate it when potential adopt
Nemo has just moved to his foster home with carer Mel. I think itβs fair to say he likes it there.
100% there will be a house full of biscuits made by him!!
Thanks to all involved getting him off the streets and thanks to Parkes Street Vet for letting us board him until we found a suitable carer.

Please help find Cassidy a home!!!! She is at Petstock Dural and would love to come home with you!!!! #rescuecats #FosterCat #adoptacat
Lenny came on board after he was found outside a home of one of our carers. He was a very scared and timid boy who had no chip and no owners!
He has come a long way already and his resident foster cats are helping him learn how to trust and be safe. This video is Balu teaching him where he stands and when to stop. (no cats were harmed in the making of this video π€£)
He will be looking for a family (when he is ready) that can take the time for him to settle in and trust his new environment.

Adoption update!
Marvin found himself a home just over a week ago and from the minute he walked in he was home. He has settled in and loves watching the world go by from his numerous windows.
Have a great life little man!

π πΎ Our third intake this week is the beautiful Pollie. She was found on the streets and was too lovely that her finders had to help.
We have been able to assist some of these cats this week, due to @Parkes Street Vet helping us with temporary boarding. Thank you to all our vets that help us help our cats!
Pollie is not yet ready for adoption, keep an eye on our website for when she is!

Our little babies have found legs to play on!!! Just four little bundles of fluff!!
UPDATE - After much deliberating.......His name is Nemo! Thanks everyone for suggesting loads of great names!
Another boy on board this week! We are referring to him as Mr Ginga at the moment but he NEEDS A NAME!!
One of our volunteers found him and we just had to fit him in somewhere!!!
"Last week while trapping a heavily pregnant cat at a western suburbs park, mr ginger came and sat on my lap. I knew we had to help him. Heβs awfully skinny, covered in lesions (which I think are suspicious), has a broken tail and someone has cut his whiskers off."
We got you big boy! Hit us with some name suggestions!

New on board!
Welcome to the handsome Monty. He turned up at a colony that we have helped out and had him on our waitlist. So glad that we could help him and get him off the streets.
Welcome on board dude!

Why do we use paper litter?
Here is BK and Stella having a good old play in their litter tray. Not only does it sound amazing to them, it's just the right size for chewing and a great feeling on their paws. If they do eat this, it won't hurt them. Not like crystal or clumping. And let's face it.....kittens are like kids. They put everything in their mouths!

When mum eats your food and then you get distracted and wander off!!!
All the kittens are munching on food now and scream at us when we approach. They recognise us as their food providers now!

ππππππThe maternity ward has had an upgrade!
The babies are moving around a lot more now and starting to play and interact with each other so much more! Every day we see more and more growth and recognition of their surroundings. We have given them a litter tray to 'play' in π€£π€£π€£ and soon they will be using it (we hope!)
Enjoy!
