Here we are again, another year under our belt (farewell 2024) and a new one about to start. 🗓️🕛

As always, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster, with ups and downs. The significant events for us in 2024 included:

👉 Sassy (*Khayem Je Ne Sais Quoi AZ) leaving us to cross Rainbow Bridge only a few days before her 13th birthday 💔
👉 Sami (Khayem Wizja AZ) joining our show team and then obtaining her A and Z stamps for hips and elbows 👏
👉 Cash (*Swartzlic Meine Cash AZ) moving to Sydney with Greg Jones and Kerrie Sweeney, taking the show scene by storm and attaining his Breed Survey classification. Thank you to his breeder, Sharon Hargreaves, for sending him up here! 🥳
👉 Chani (*Swartzlic Meine Charlie AZ) attaining her Breed Survey classification and re-entering the show scene after a long absence, starting with being called out in first place in her first show back
👉 Renzo's (*Khayem Revelation ET AZ) retirement from showing after more than 7 years in the ring
👉 Rio, Wyatt and Ulli leaving us to join beloved, long time Khayem families to be spoilt rotten and have wonderful lives ❤️
👉A super trip to the 50th National in Adelaide with lots of fun with good friends and Renzo's last National appearance 😘
👉 A number of Olymp kids attaining their AZ's for hip and elbows 👏
👉 The first Australian Olymp grandkids being born
👉 Olymp's son *Calvados vom Holtkamper Hof being awarded VA2 Vice Sieger at the German Sieger Show, with a number of Olymp's grandkids also achieving high placings. 🥈🏆
👉Our beautiful sweet mare Ellie, crossing Rainbow Bridge at 20 years old

We have a lot planned for 2025, including a litter or 2 and some other exciting news ..... Watch this space! 😁🍾🥳✈️

We want to take this opportunity to thank our most wonderful handlers - Greg Jones, Melissa Turoczy, Paris Turoczy, Stella Weston, Tina Dix, Jess Lynch and Juan Gordillo - for your hard work with our kids and your unwavering support.

We also want to thank our amazing friends - all of our handlers, Greg Jones, Kerrie Sweeney, Tina and Carl Cossu, Deb and Kristin Muir, Cleo Pickard and Robynne Ayres, to name a few - for all the laughs, good food and drinks, road trips, fun and support throughout the year. 😘

The last 2 weeks, we took 4 of our "oldies" to have their Christmas photos taken with Santa at World 4 Pets. 🎅

Last Saturday was our last event for the year, with the GSDL Christmas Members Competition show and Point Score presentation.

We had some great results at the show under judge Mr Steve Collins (SA) and the show ran to good time, although we still got home in the wee small hours of Sunday!

Khayem Wizja AZ "Sami" - 2nd Junior Bitch, graded Very Good 👍 😊 ❤️

*Swartzlic Meine Charlie AZ "Chani" - 2nd Intermediate Bitch (called out 1st), graded Very Good 😊 😍

*Khayem Revelation ET AZ "Renzo" - 5th Open Dog SC, graded Excellent. Unfortunately, this will likely be Renzo's final show as he will be 7 and a half soon. He will, however, probably still attend shows so that he can help with Junior Handlers! 🎉😊❤️. We will miss our boy being in the ring with Paris on the end of his lead 😔

In addition, *Swartzlic Meine Cash was awarded 1st Open Dog SC, graded Excellent, and then also won Best Dog! 👏🥳 Congratulations to Greg, Kerrie and Sharon on Cash's first Excellent 🏆🥳

Cash was given a run for his money by Simon, *Treuschutzer Rattle N Hum AZ, (owned by Stella and Tina and Carl Cossu and handled by Stella), who took out Intermediate Dog and Reserve Best Dog 😊

At the Point Score presentation, our boys achieved:

*Khayem Revelation ET AZ "Renzo" - 5th Open Dog SC

Ch. *Olymp vom Lärchenhain (Imp Deu) - 5th Sires Progeny SC.

Overall, a lovely, although boiling hot night, spent with great friends Greg and Kerrie, Tina, Carl and Stella, Mel and Paris, Cleo, Martine and Jeff, Tracey and Ken, to name a few! 🥳🎉👏🥂

Our heartfelt thanks to our handlers - Greg Jones, Mel Turoczy, Paris and Stella, for all that you have done with our dogs this year. Your dedication and support is invaluable. ❤️😁🍾🥂

A big day today with a trip to Canberra and back, to Breed Survey our Chani girl, and Greg and Sharon's Cash! 🚙

It was especially lovely to have them both go through at the same survey, with really super critiques from Breed Surveyor, Mr Glenn Gregory. 😁👏🥂🍾

Congratulations to Sharon Hargreaves on breeding these 2 beautiful German Shepherds! ☺️

Congratulations also to Greg Jones for his super training and presentation of Cash. 🥳👍👊💪

Our heartfelt thanks to Stella for her handling of both dogs in the sun and heat and putting up with their fidgety behaviour 😁

Thanks too to Tina and Carl Cossu for your help and support, and congratulations on your two dogs, Simon and Indy, also attaining Breed Survey classification today. (*Treuschutzer Rattle N Hum AZ and *Treuschutzer Colour By Numbers AZ) Also handled by a very busy Stella! 😍

A big week and glad to be home, but this time last week, we were in Melbourne to show at the GSDCV and Working Dog Club Championship shows 😁

A pretty relaxed time with only 2 dogs to show - Sami and Cash (with Greg Jones)!

Our results:

Khayem Wizja AZ "Samira/Sami" - 7th Junior graded Very Good under judge Mr Gaetano Barbieri (Italy)

Khayem Wizja AZ "Samira/Sami" - 3rd Junior graded Very Good under judge Ms Ulla Søgaard Hansen (Denmark).

Sami was called out 1st under Ms Hansen, but she gave away a lot in age and experience, being the youngest in the class, so we weren't disappointed with finishing in 3rd. Her day will come ☺️

She was also called out 8th under Mr Barbieri but immediately went up to 6th before going back to 7th after misbehaving on the fast gait right at the end of the class. It's all experience and she is definitely improving in her ring craft! 😀

Our huge thanks to Jess Lynch for stepping in to handle Sami for us and for your kind words about her 😊. While Greg couldn't handle her due to his recent surgery, we also want to thank you for assisting with double handling and calling Sami. She loves you 😍

Just a little (important) announcement - Samira obtained her AZ stamps for her hips and elbows yesterday! A (2,3) Z (0,0) excellent scores! 🥰 👏🎉🥳😊

The new electronic system for obtaining the scores from the x-rays meant that Samira turned 1 on Tuesday, was x-rayed on Wednesday, x-rays submitted for scoring Thursday and results back from Dr Lavelle on Friday. Brilliant! 😁

So Sami will now be known as .....

Last weekend we attended the GSDL October Championship show under judge, Mr John Lijffijt (SV Germany). As it was over 2 days, it was a relaxed show for our crew. 😀

Our results:
Khayem Wizja "Sami" - 7th Puppy Bitch graded Very Promising 😁

*Khayem Revelation ET AZ "Renzo" - 7th Open Dog graded Excellent, in what may be his last show. He was called out 5th but just can't quite keep up with the young ones anymore. ❤️

Our friends also had some great results, so it was a pretty good weekend! 🍾🥳🎊👏

We would like to thank the club and the judge for a nice show in almost perfect weather (for a change). John has been here a few times before and we hope he will be back sooner rather than later. 😃

For many years, the October long weekend has meant 2 trips to Canberra for the ACTGSD club shows. Unfortunately this year, they weren't held, so we headed in the opposite direction, to Newcastle, for their show under new judge Mr Matthew Morris (NSW). 🚗

We took Sami, Greg took Cash, and Tina and Stella took Tiny, for a relatively easy day of showing for our little team 😃

Whilst entries were small, the show was fun and we came away with good results. 👍

Khayem Wizja "Sami" - 2nd Puppy Bitch graded Very Promising, shown by Greg ♥️

Swartzlic Meine Cash "Cash" - 1st Intermediate Dog, graded Very Good, Best Dog and Runner Up Best of Breed, shown by Stella. 👑

Treuschützer Shaboo Shoobah AZ "Tiny" - 1st Junior Bitch graded Very Good 😍

Maze at Canberra show October 2016. ❤️

She was a few weeks too young to be shown and a couple of days later, she somehow severely broke one of her toes on a hind foot. 😭 So no showing at all for 2016 and in to 2017.

She did go on to achieve a VG show grading and her Endurance title. 👏👍👊🚴

Maze is the undisputed boss of our pack since Sassy left us and despite her idiosyncrasies, she is very precious as the only progeny from our beloved Juul. 💔. Maze is the mum of Tempe and the grandmother of Samira (Sami) ❤️ so definitely our matriarch now.

Last week, the kids of the Khayem L litter turned 12! Happy birthday to all of the kids, especially Mr T, Jake and Abbi ❤️🥳🎁🎂🥂🎆

A quick update regarding our last few weekends and Samira's first shows. Normally your young show prospects hit the ring as soon as possible after they turn 3 months old, but with Sami hurting her foot at 10 weeks and then show cancellations and dreadful rain closing our grounds, Sami didn't manage to get shown until she was 2 days off 9 months. So with little training and no ring experience, we have been really happy with her results.

GSDL State Breed show under judge Melanie Groth (NSW) - 7th Minor Puppy graded Very Promising

Newcastle & Hunter GSD Club show under judge Natalie Humphries (WA) - 3rd Puppy graded Very Promising.

We are looking forward to upcoming shows and hope that it starts to "click" as to what to do in the ring! 😂

You guys are officially senior dogs now, hard to believe! 🥺

Rio is now living the life with Narelle and Lee, spending her days bossing her little brother Gus around (Tempe's litter brother) and taking up the whole bed at night! 😂

Happy 8th birthday to our one and only (literally), Maze! 🎈🍾🎁🎉🎂🥂🎆🥂🥰

Maze is the only puppy from our super girl Juul! She's loud and opinionated, and does everything at a million miles an hour, but always gives 110% to anything that you put to her.

Despite being a singleton herself, Maze produced 11 puppies in her only litter, battling through Canine Maternal Hydrops until the pups were viable and then being the most perfect mum, doing a fabulous job raising her bubs 🥰❤️
