A big week and glad to be home, but this time last week, we were in Melbourne to show at the GSDCV and Working Dog Club Championship shows 😁

A pretty relaxed time with only 2 dogs to show - Sami and Cash (with Greg Jones)!

Our results:

Khayem Wizja AZ "Samira/Sami" - 7th Junior graded Very Good under judge Mr Gaetano Barbieri (Italy)

Khayem Wizja AZ "Samira/Sami" - 3rd Junior graded Very Good under judge Ms Ulla Søgaard Hansen (Denmark).

Sami was called out 1st under Ms Hansen, but she gave away a lot in age and experience, being the youngest in the class, so we weren't disappointed with finishing in 3rd. Her day will come ☺️

She was also called out 8th under Mr Barbieri but immediately went up to 6th before going back to 7th after misbehaving on the fast gait right at the end of the class. It's all experience and she is definitely improving in her ring craft! 😀

Our huge thanks to Jess Lynch for stepping in to handle Sami for us and for your kind words about her 😊. While Greg couldn't handle her due to his recent surgery, we also want to thank you for assisting with double handling and calling Sami. She loves you 😍

Just a little (important) announcement - Samira obtained her AZ stamps for her hips and elbows yesterday! A (2,3) Z (0,0) excellent scores! 🥰 👏🎉🥳😊

The new electronic system for obtaining the scores from the x-rays meant that Samira turned 1 on Tuesday, was x-rayed on Wednesday, x-rays submitted for scoring Thursday and results back from Dr Lavelle on Friday. Brilliant! 😁

So Sami will now be known as .....

Last weekend we attended the GSDL October Championship show under judge, Mr John Lijffijt (SV Germany). As it was over 2 days, it was a relaxed show for our crew. 😀

Our results:
Khayem Wizja "Sami" - 7th Puppy Bitch graded Very Promising 😁

*Khayem Revelation ET AZ "Renzo" - 7th Open Dog graded Excellent, in what may be his last show. He was called out 5th but just can't quite keep up with the young ones anymore. ❤️

Our friends also had some great results, so it was a pretty good weekend! 🍾🥳🎊👏

We would like to thank the club and the judge for a nice show in almost perfect weather (for a change). John has been here a few times before and we hope he will be back sooner rather than later. 😃

For many years, the October long weekend has meant 2 trips to Canberra for the ACTGSD club shows. Unfortunately this year, they weren't held, so we headed in the opposite direction, to Newcastle, for their show under new judge Mr Matthew Morris (NSW). 🚗

We took Sami, Greg took Cash, and Tina and Stella took Tiny, for a relatively easy day of showing for our little team 😃

Whilst entries were small, the show was fun and we came away with good results. 👍

Maze at Canberra show October 2016. ❤️

She was a few weeks too young to be shown and a couple of days later, she somehow severely broke one of her toes on a hind foot. 😭 So no showing at all for 2016 and in to 2017.

She did go on to achieve a VG show grading and her Endurance title. 👏👍👊🚴

Maze is the undisputed boss of our pack since Sassy left us and despite her idiosyncrasies, she is very precious as the only progeny from our beloved Juul. 💔. Maze is the mum of Tempe and the grandmother of Samira (Sami) ❤️ so definitely our matriarch now.

Last week, the kids of the Khayem L litter turned 12! Happy birthday to all of the kids, especially Mr T, Jake and Abbi ❤️🥳🎁🎂🥂🎆

Our L litter was sired by *Toby von der Plassenburg from our lovely Nikki, *Khayem Fraya (IID) AZ ❤️

We know this lot would have been spoilt rotten and we wish them many more birthdays to come 🥰😘😊

A quick update regarding our last few weekends and Samira's first shows. Normally your young show prospects hit the ring as soon as possible after they turn 3 months old, but with Sami hurting her foot at 10 weeks and then show cancellations and dreadful rain closing our grounds, Sami didn't manage to get shown until she was 2 days off 9 months. So with little training and no ring experience, we have been really happy with her results.

GSDL State Breed show under judge Melanie Groth (NSW) - 7th Minor Puppy graded Very Promising

Newcastle & Hunter GSD Club show under judge Natalie Humphries (WA) - 3rd Puppy graded Very Promising.

We are looking forward to upcoming shows and hope that it starts to "click" as to what to do in the ring! 😂

Happy 8th birthday to our one and only (literally), Maze! 🎈🍾🎁🎉🎂🥂🎆🥂🥰

Maze is the only puppy from our super girl Juul! She's loud and opinionated, and does everything at a million miles an hour, but always gives 110% to anything that you put to her.

Despite being a singleton herself, Maze produced 11 puppies in her only litter, battling through Canine Maternal Hydrops until the pups were viable and then being the most perfect mum, doing a fabulous job raising her bubs 🥰❤️

She had a great time with her older brother Swartzlic Meine Cash AZ "Cash" and watched as her older sister, Lawine Madame Butterfly AZ, achieved her Breed Survey classification 👍👏❤️🥳 Congratulations to Denise Smith, Deb Martin and Mani Singhal! 😁

This day last year was an important milestone for us but it's a sad one this year. Unfortunately it's the first birthday anniversary without any of our Khayem F litter kids to celebrate it. They would have been 16 today. 💔

A special hug to the Silvers family and our dad Bob, as they lost their girls a few months after their 15th birthdays last year. 🥹❤️

Unbelievable to think that we were in the throes of whelping these amazing babies 16 years ago.

We probably will make this the last official birthday shout out but I absolutely want to thank each and every one of the owners of these babies for the amazing lives that you gave to our very special kids, our first and only imported in dam litter, with our most beautiful Lilli and the superb Fasko ❤️🥰 Thank you all..

Last week we travelled to Adelaide for the 50th GSDCA National Show & Trial. 2 days driving down, 2 days driving back, with the show in the middle! It's a massive, exhausting undertaking and I feel for those brave souls who drove from FNQ! Bret and I have pretty much decided this is the last time that we will go to Adelaide unless we fly. Getting too old for this 🤣

Our sole competitor was Renzo, who competed in Open Dog. He's 7 years old in a minute and we were very happy to see him called out 7th in the large class of handsome boys. Not sure why, but he ultimately lost 4 places and finished 11th, just off the pegs. 🤔

This is likely to be his last National and it was a vast improvement on his first (also in Adelaide).

We are very proud of our boy and love to see the rapport that he has with his young handler, Paris. He loves being shown, even if he's sometimes a bit naughty! 😁. Thank you for all you've done with Renzo over the last 2 and a half years Paris, we love you heaps ❤️

We would like to thank the members of Team Renzo, who are always there for him and us - CEO Tina Cossu and team members Carl Cossu, Chief Caller - Greg Jones, Kerrie Sweeney, Deb Muir and Kristin Muir ❤️ Thank you guys for your help and support. 😁

On behalf of Sharon Hargreaves, we also exhibited Swartzlic Meine Cash AZ, as Sharon was injured and unable to get to the show. Cash finished a credible 5th Intermediate Dog, a credit to the work put into him over the 5 weeks that he has been in Sydney, by Greg Jones and Kerrie Sweeney 👏🎊🥳

Cash is the litter brother to our Chani and a superb Olymp son ❤️

Intermediate Dog class was outstanding and I am excited for Open Dog next year with these lovely boys moving up to the big time 😍

Thank you to the members of the GSDCSA National committee for putting on a super National on your beautiful grounds and even organising the perfect weather! 😀. Having been on many National committees over the years, we understand the work involved for years before the show and the weeks after! Great job guys 😊

We would also like to thank our Judge, Herr Rainer Mast (SV Germany) for the great job he did with the boys and LSC classes all 3 days. Unfortunately we didn't get to exhibit under Snr Roberto Caputi, but he also was an excellent judge and we look forward to him returning to Australia soon.

On Sunday, our little show team participated in the GSDL Members Competition under judge, Mr Salvatore Pittelli (specialist SA). It was extremely hot and humid, not the best conditions to be having a dog show in, but our dogs come first and we made sure that Renzo especially was happy to go out in the conditions and, as always, he had a great time 😁. He's such an awesome dog. 🥰 Chani, Swartzlic Meine Charlie, won 1st Puppy Bitch graded Very Promising. Chani was only 1 week into the class so we are very happy with her 🥰 Thank you to Mel Turoczy for handling Chani again ❤️ Renzo, *Khayem Revelation ET AZ, won 1st Open Dog (SC) and Best Dog (SC) in a class of lovely males. Renzo was again superbly partnered by Paris Turoczy ❤️ They are an awesome team! Thank you to Salvatore for his running of the show and his lovely critiques of both Renzo and Chani (see video of Chani in the comments) 👏

Last weekend, under the most attrocious of conditions, we attended the 2 GSDL Championship shows at Luddenham Showground. The ground was absolutely saturated from all of the rain we have had, and a number of handlers took a tumble from the mud. And to top it off, the worst of the torrential rain started during Stock Coat Open Dog on Saturday. On Saturday, we exhibited under Mrs Susan Belfield, a specialist judge from the famous Kassieger kennels in the UK. Our results: 🏆 Swartzlic Meine Charlie "Chani" - 1st Baby Puppy Bitch graded Very Promising 🏆 *Khayem Revelation ET AZ "Renzo" - 5th Open Dog Excellent 🏆🥇CH. *Olymp vom Lärchenhain (Imp Gmy) - 1st Open Dog Excellent, Challenge Dog, Best of Breed and Best In Show 🍾🎉🥂🎊🥳🍻💪 On Sunday, we exhibited Chani and Renzo under Mr Tony Gibson, specialist judge from New Zealand, for the following results: 🥈 Swartzlic Meine Charlie "Chani" - 2nd Baby Puppy Bitch graded Very Promising 🥉 *Khayem Revelation ET AZ "Renzo" - 3rd Open Dog Excellent Our thanks again to our super handlers, Paris and Mel Turoczy. Paris did an amazing job handling Renzo (and staying upright) in the Open Dog class. They work so well together as a team that when Renzo felt Paris slip, he slowed down and turned to see if she was ok before gaiting on! Love this boy so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Mel of course did amazing work with Olymp, who really would have preferred to be at home on our bed! She always gets the best from him ❤️😘☺️ Thanks also to all of our friends in tent city, for all of the laughs under miserable conditions. 😃😘 Thank you to our judges too, for judging in these conditions, particularly Susan, who judged most of the day in the pouring rain, she was clearly soaked but powered on! 💪👍👏 Video of Renzo and Paris.
