The story of Tucson and how he came to us
You may have seen many posts recently about our 4 kittens, their growth and how we have 1 left looking for a home.
Well believe it or not we originally had 3 kittens, all dumped by mum at 2 days of age and needed to be bottle-fed by our wonderful nurse Fiona. 4 weeks on, on a busy Tuesday morning we had a phone call from the fire brigade, a young man driving a Hyundai Tucson from Revesby to Menai had pulled over because his engine was making a strange sound. He pulled over, popped the hood and discovered his engine was purring. A rescue mission ensued from our local fires and Tucson emerged from the engine. Amazingly all he had to show for his ordeal was a bit of engine great, no scrapes, no cuts, no brakes, and yes he was in the engine while the car was driving. After checking for a microchip and realising he did not have an owner, we estimated that he was roughly 2 weeks older than our current 3 bottle babies, so figured there were already 3 why not have 4? We put him in and he hit it off with the other straight away, they were best friends and he was nicknamed Tucson. 4 weeks later our original 3 have found a home but our little sweet boy is still here, he is loving, playing full and has a massive personality and we just want the best life for him.
We received the most beautiful testimonial from a client recently regarding her pet Bonnie and her journey receiving an arthramid injection for her arthritis. Have a read of Bonnie’s story.
I am delighted to share my experiences with Arthramid.
Before the treatment my West highland Terrier Bonnie was struggling with chronic health due to the arthritis in both her back legs.
The Arthritis was slowly robbing her of the things she enjoyed the most, and was affecting her overall well being.
The first sign we had that anything was amiss, was when she began to show signs after walking any distance, She loved nothing more than chasing her favourite pink toy after each walk, however over time she began to show little or no interest.
Although she had previously been diagnosed with arthritis in both legs, she was displaying no signs that it was impacting on her quality of life.
However, all that changed early 2023, when she began to limp after each walk and it was evident that she was in pain. A trip to the Vet resulted in the diagnosis that she required surgery. Given her age at the time ( 12 years old) we were reluctant to have her endure both the surgery and the long recovery period. It was then that Arthramid was suggested by Nurse Brit.
Although we were sceptical, we thought it was worth trying to treat her conservatively. The results for our girl were more than we could have asked for, after the mandatory 2 weeks recovery; not only was she no longer limping but she began to engage with the dogs at the dog park running after them with no ill effect.
Also earlier this year, she began to show signs that the right leg was also bothering her, and a follow up not only showed a floating Patella , but a torn Cruciate Ligament and severe Arthritis. The recommendation was to have her undertake back to back surgeries to tackle these issues. However, given her age, her regular vet seemed reluctant to subject her to such a long and gruelling procedure.

Check out this little dude, he was having a bit too much fun running rampant in small consults. Still up for adoption, he is a little ball of energy.
