🧡She's back! Vet nurse Annie has returned to the Ark from maternity leave after welcoming a beautiful baby girl to the family. Welcome back Annie! 🧡
Sixteen-year-old Tibetan terrier Jersey kept her family on their toes while ringing in the new year. On examination by Dr Joe, a tick was found on her foot, which had caused her to limp and become disorientated.
Jersey was admitted for treatment on New Years Eve, which involved intravenous fluids (IVFT), tick serum, antibiotics and oxygen. After two days of supportive therapy, Jersey was able to go home to her family – which includes her little sister Reggie!
We are continuing to see a number of unusual cases involving backyard critters, from bees and ants to ticks and leeches. We encourage all our valued clients to keep up to date on parasite prevention and be vigilant when out and about, whether it’s in the backyard, on a walk or down at the beach. Please reach out to the team at the Ark if you notice any changes to your pet’s behaviour.
